 It's still a great knife, and I like the new MOLLE sheath, but I prefer the micarta handles over the new aluminum ones. My only real gripe is with the finger groove behind the ricasso is noticibly deeper than on the original, and makes for a weaker feel. That, and the handles aren't interchangeable because of the difference. Otherwise, it's another fine Benchmade product, razor sharp right out of the box

I had an original Allen Elishewitz Benchmade Nimravus with the micarta handles, and I loved it- except for the partially serrated blade (I'm just not a big fan of serrations). Not exactly the same as the original Elishewitz Nimravus

 I ordered the Kydex sheath separately and like the sheath but find the release a little tight. That will hopefully improve with use. Amazon packaging and shipping was first rate, as usual.

5" partially serrated, drop point blade made from 154CM steel should handle just about everything I can throw at it - I can't wait to work with it in the field. It's a bit small and light for a camp type "chopper" but could probably handle some of that duty in addition to being a great cutter and slicer. It is lightweight but you can still feel it in your hand and it is small enough to have on your waist or connected to a thigh-rig, backpack, etc.

Great All Purpose Knife

My blade has been coated in BK1, Benchmade’s proprietary poly-ceramic coating. BK1 is tough stuff, but it does show wear. Personally, I’m not a big fan of blade coatings, and would prefer to see Benchmade offer this knife in a stonewashed or satin finish. Especially since this knife is offered in stainless steel

 The edges of the handle are chamferred and sit slightly proud of the aluminum scales. The scales themselves are deeply textured for traction. 

 The Nimravus has the ability to flex into both of those roles. The 4.5″ blade gives you plenty of options. This knife will get plenty of work done, but can also be used as a martial blade if necessary

The Benchmade Nimravus is one of Benchmade’s original fixed blade designs. It has stood the test of time and remains popular to this day. A “Nimravus” is an ancient cat with large teeth. I’d say that’s fitting when you consider this blade’s profile

Get what you pay for

 Now, if that was a one-time mistake, I could understand, but there are numerous complaints about the same problem. Either Amazon needs to straighten these sellers out, or they need to prohibit them from selling UNTIL they make the necessary adjustments.  Aside from that, I like the knife, for what you pay, it's a really nice knife, I was only going to see what I could do with it, handle-wise, just for fun. I would have to return it or have a welder add some length to it

 So, if you do decide to chance it, expect the worst, or if you're a gambler and think these are good odds, good lock to you!
