 So we've got this clip point blade shape like most bowie knives, very generous belly. You know these knives are really made, for you know, survival and out in the field, just a variety of different cutting tasks, so the blade thickness on it is 0.19 of an inch or pretty much five millimeter. So it's thick enough

 Obviously, you know to do some battening with or obviously prying. You know it's a nice strong knife overall length on. It is eleven point: seven two inches or pretty much thirty centimeters the weight of it too, not too heavy eleven point: seven: four ounces or 332 grams. The steel that they're using on this is the one five 4 cm, which is a high-end steel edge retention, is six out of ten corrosion

Hats off to the master that sharpened my arvensis .First look at the blade edge showed it was sharpened with a course grit . So I did a paper test expecting to grab and tear .It did not , it's razor sharp no matter how thin the paper

 It's very comfortable in my hand and at about 6.5" is perfect for my EDC. I'm 6'6", 200lbs and tend to opt for gear that average sized guys would pass on. The only flaw is the sheath

 You'Ve got these two little Clips down here if they push the tabs in and then pull up on the clip and that's how it comes off. That'S what looks like on the back slide that in clip it down you're good to go. I got a bunch of different sizes of wood, some with knots, some without knots. Let'S put it through the paces here, no problem for the smaller wood

 That'S really nice and I have put an edge on this after having just tested it and it's nice to have that choil there. For that purpose, all the tests I put it through did quite well, even that last those last two pieces of wood. They were hardwood and there were a lot of knots in that second piece, but it's still, you know. I did great no issues, no rolls! No chips, nothing like that on the blade that 154cm some people are gon na, say

 I would say that your sheath has control when it's locked in and clicked in like this, but if you turn this upside down and really shake it, you're going to drop the knife, that's why this extra clip has been put on there again similar to the knife.  I did a bit more batana and the Arvin's us had no problem with the work that was done. So, let's wrap up here talking about the benchmade, our venzas, i told you when i held it at SHOT, showed that first time I thought yeah. I think I'm gon na, like this knife and having used it and tested it. I liked this knife

.if the replacement comes new as it should and without loose scales, it will be a keeper and for sure 4/5.  Replacement Arrived: Its better. The hollow pins on this one doesn't just push out with hand force

Great feeling knife, but QC issues

 So, overall guys I mean a fantastic ski for the price point, you're getting a great sheet and really no need to upgrade, and you can kind of tweak the belt attachment if you want to. But that's totally up to you all right price point on this bench made now. Benchmate has a very tight margin of error. So, basically everywhere you go you're going to see the same prices for this blacked-out bladed version you're going to look at a hundred and eighty-two dollars just about everywhere you go and then you can get the stone wash finish for about 170 and they do have plain Edge as well as serrated, obviously I want with plain edge for everything that we've discussed today

 You know, there's going to be a very solid blade with that nice clip it's a wide clip. You know so it's not really sharp up here, but it does give you that really good strength into that tip that huge amount of belly into that saber grind and we are looking at from the handle to the tip we're looking at six and a half inches. So you're looking at about five and a half inches actual cutting edge and they do have a serrated version as well. I went plain edge because I always find point

 Now some of you don't chop with knives and that's totally fine, and that this is the one hang-up that I have is I'm going to use this as we've discussed in the intro as this kind of crossover blade, I've got it if need be shop with this. Do hacking doodie limbing and that type of a thing now this bird beak kind of set up back here that you would know from like Becker's and a lot of Ontario knives and they're SP. You might have this not a problem at all. It doesn't bite into my hand, doesn't cause me hotspots or any issues

 They'Ve got it dialed in it's an upgrade over. Like ah say you know, and that type of thing for a stainless option and really rust resistant, it's not a super steel in today's market, but it's better than a lot of stainless steels out there. I we're looking at a total thickness on this full tang of 0.19, so good thickness

The ergonomic design is easy to hold and carry with the included leather sheath. Carbon steel blade. The upper half along with a bit by the handle has a rough dark finish with pit marks to give you an old feel and look. There upper spine includes custom file work. It's straight edged and razor sharp. The blade comes well oiled to protect and prolong it's life. The handle is smooth finished wood. It's natural wood in color with some grain and a brass bolster.

Included with the knife is a dark brown leather sheath with a 1 1/2" belt loop.

I was going to return this, but after reading the return policy from the vendor, I'm not taking a $6 hit on this knife

 The stitching on the sheath looks nice at first until you look closely. Lots of areas where the threads are just waiting to get snagged on something. There is also no drain hole in the bottom, so if water gets in the sheath, your knife WILL rust.  Final thoughts; I'm glad I didn't spend more on this than I did

Rite Edge? Not quite...

Just received my knife and it is an amazing blade for the price, came sharp right out of the box. The handle is comfortable and the sheath fits well. The file work on the spine is a nice touch. I will use and abuse this knife and not worry because it didn't break the bank and yet I am proud to carry such a well made thing
