Not exactly the same, but this is what finding Le Labo's Santal 33 was for me. Before moving to NYC, my SO and I had been making a lot of short trips there around 2018. Every time we went, I would smell this mystery scent everywhere.

Depends on what decade this story will be, but Baccarat Rouge 540 Extrait because people know it's expensive, it smells expensive, and the extrait is more out of people's price points than the EDP. For true pretentiousness, it has to be something from Clive Christian like No.1 which retails for £580 and really divides people in opinion.

For me, santal 33 is 100 worth the hype (and the price). I know everyone smelled like this a few years ago, and many still do, but I LOVE it (on me and my husband). It projects, lasts all day, and is unisex.

This perfume sample smells like what the woman at the airport was wearing, but something smells a little off. Like rubbing alcohol or something like that. Kinda bummed that it might not be as authentic as the real fragrance. Especially spending almost $40 on a teeny tiny sample

It’s ok. I wanted to see what the big hype was and why this is so expensive. I wasn’t thrilled at all but it does smell good if you like woodsy smells. I’d give it a three outta 5!

Hello Redditors of r/fragrance! Allow me to share my review with regards to Le Labo Santal 33.

I'm just blown away at how amazing it smelled! Jeez what an impact it had on me! When you told me the name (Baccarat is all you said so I'm assuming it was Rouge 540) I knew in the back of my mind that I had heard of it before but have never smelled it in person!

My girl is otherwise very feminine, but this stuff wears surprisingly hot on her. Le Labo Santal 33: in her words, “in New York you either smell like or have f*cked someone who smells like Santal 33. And my ex didn’t wear Santal 33, so I had to take on the role” She doesnt wear it anymore because it’s too strong.

My lower rated review is simply because the longevity of the scent seems to dissipate rather quickly from this very pricey $30 sample. However, I do very much enjoy the smell of this perfume.

It smells really good but I think it smells more like a mans cologne than a woman’s perfume. The scent lasts so you DO NOT need a lot. I’m not bashing this perfume by any means. With my chemistry, I think it smells like a man

Santal 33 whisks you away, on to a straw hammock under the warm sun. Elements of woody yet amber-like notes, cascading through the air which remain appealingly fresh and playful, throughout the day (seriously though guys, 2 sprays of this will go easily for 12hours).
