I get using something like this for traveling but its too big and bulky for the whole "backpack" thing they advertise. That being said the recipient was overjoyed to get this and seems to love using it. One thing I will give it is all of the wheels turn so you can do some cool maneuvering with it. I was pretty impressed with the quality of construction but for the price, I would just carry my kid or buy a backpack to carry them in
