 Is this bag just cinches down into a much smaller footprint, because there's a lot of bags out there? It'S a 40 60 liter pack, whatever it is, you might only have 15 or 20 liters in the bag or maybe only you're, only using a quarter of its carry capacity, but the footprint of the bag or main is the same so that be able to have A pack that can really kind of switch squish down into a smaller footprint to me is everything, that's a very, very good quality, so just to jump right into it. Of course, this is the the yellow version. This is the also the tall version it comes in a regular size and I'm 6 foot 2, so that the tall version works perfect for me and just right on the outside, you have these straps up here, so you can strap really any additional items. You would like to it there's also a pocket whoops right here on the front

 Alice is a great job with the the comfortable comfort ability of their harness system and their waist belt, and you might be noticing something no words the waist belt with this. What'S what is fantastic Atlas gives you the option that you can take it on or off. It'S up to you and they make great West waist belts very meaty. There'S a lot of material here, a lot of a lot of substance and durability, so they're very good at the waist belts

 I just want to talk about this real quick on the the back panel. It'S kind of got like a rib design and it is very comfortable and it's got like kind of exaggerated lumbar area right here, which makes carrying this bag very comfortable and in the waist belt, actually tucks right back in here. Let me actually show you on the other bag, so they sent me to. This is a athlete pack and black, but what's different is this one is the regular version

 You have another little stretchy area. Here goes all the way to the bottom: a couple zipper pockets here you could put SD cards or batteries or remote shutters or whatever you like there and that's the the camera compartment. I just want to talk about this real quick on the the back panel.  It'S not like the foam that you would use for your backpack uh straps, it's like a very thick foam, and so they they sent me these, and i actually was able to do the install myself to upgrade this original backpack to be capable of handling a lot More weight and to just improve the frame and that's cool, i think it's important to reuse. You know products like this and to turn them into more functional, updated products when we can so we don't just throw out perfectly viable and useful backpacks and other type of hiking this one. So that's it! That'S my review of the bag. I think it's a great backpack, i i think it's um worth checking these out

 And then here i've got a long, a large version of a telephoto a little bit longer than your traditional 70 to 200, but essentially the the same grouping of lenses all right. . So it's a pretty big backpack, but this is the backpack that i've used for like five or six years. It'S so comfortable! You throw this thing on and you can walk for miles and you don't even feel the weight and why is it so comfortable? That'S the real question that we want to answer and we want to see these attributes in the bags that we choose for camera gear, so first thing comfortable, straps, obviously right, but the nice padding and the good form and the heavy duty foam. These are important factors in creating a comfortable, strap

 If you want stuff that needs to stay absolutely dry, this is a well protected area for your important documents and things like that. This bag has been incredibly comfortable. The most comfortable backpack I've ever had that's also a camera bag and, as you can see, this bag expands to infinity. I haven't actually reached a point where this bag is full, where it's overfilled and where it's been too heavy to carry or anything like that

 It opens on the back and you get full access to the whole bag here in the back, and it has a little special feature called the origami compartment here, which basically allows you to turn some storage space into camera space or, like I said, storage space, and You have more volume for other stuff in the back. It'S it's very shallow, I'm an Olympus ambassador and I shoot with Olympus glass, of course, which is small lenses and they fit in perfectly. But if you have slightly bigger lenses, you'll end up putting them in sideways. Like this, I know that for future versions of this backpack there will be it'll, be slightly deeper and then normal full-frame lenses will also fit in upright or the general full frame lens will fit in upright

 They're not just smaller and larger versions of the exact same pack. There are some differences. this one has a laptop compartment on the front. This one has it inside

 They both feature this top flap drawstring top system and then they both have space down in front of the box that actually holds the camera gear and so with compression straps on the sides. Again, this is true for both models. You can stuff the pack as full as you need to and then cinch them down, throw a tripod on the side, and and make it work.  Back panels are very similar with this sort of ribbed material. It's very comfortable. The biggest thing that I like about the the suspension system here is the waist belt. Now a lot of packs have waist belts

 just like any other outdoor pack you'd expect. They have the same suspension system for the shoulder harnesses here which is great. They both feature internal metal frames which again standard for hiking packs to help distribute the load of the pack down onto your hips rather than on your shoulders. They have or this one has an adjustable velcro thing for adjusting depending on your your torso height which is great can you get a good fit

Deuter Aircontact 50 + 10 SL Women's Internal Frame Backpack

 The shoulder straps are already coming apart along the stitching in one place and look pretty worn out after one trip. And there were a couple of moments on the trail where I had a hard time getting the hip belt buckle to snap into place - at one point I actually thought it had broken completely, which would have been the pits because at that point I still had a week left.

After less than four weeks of backpacking (JMT at three weeks, Pemi Loop at 4 days as a dry run from the JMT): The pack was still mostly comfortable (as comfortable as a 40+ lb pack can be), but has some durability issues that has me considering a return. A tear formed pretty quickly on the inside pocket of the pack's hood. The shoulder straps are already coming apart along the stitching in one place and look pretty worn out after one trip. Here is why I bought the pack: It felt the best on my back. Like it was an extension of my back rather than just hanging on there. It also fits a bear canister (bear vault 500) horizontal, which makes a huge difference in the comfort in carrying one of those monsters.

I did not want to buy this pack

Other than that, the pack is comfy and durable and adjusted to fit me well even though I'm short (5'2" - see photo for scale). It's a little big for day hikes, but it's perfect for multi-day trips. An included rain cover and/or removable day pack would've been nice, but that wasn't a huge dealbreaker for me.

My only complaints would be the back panel and chest strap. The back panel wasn't as breathable as I would have liked. My back got a bit sweaty after walking ~10 minutes from the train to my airbnb. The chest strap also dug into my sternum and would leave a mark so I ended up unbuckling it a lot of the time, although this might just be a personal problem since I have a small chest

First pack, not disappointed

  In the end had to go with comfort. Every"body" is different. Just glad to be able to work with the experts at REI.

 Unfortunately, I had to go for another brand, the Osprey Aura 65 because I have issues with weight around my shoulders. The latter had a little more cushion in that area, but so liked the the Deuter too.  In the end had to go with comfort. Every"body" is different

 Above that there's a hydration sleeve hung inside where you can route. The reservoir hose to either side shoulder and there's hip pockets down below for access to snacks on the outside the front, stretchy pocket holds your wet rain jacket and water bottles can be stored on the sides. The compression straps secure your load or they can hold tent poles. The sleeping pad straps are nice and burly, and the two loops and bungees keep your trekking poles out of the way when you're not using them
