 No way a cookie-cutter, short-cut artist like Ubisoft can compete against them unless they radically change their ways.

  If Ubisoft continues to produce half-baked games like this (and the Far Cry series, also half-baked), there is no way they are going to survive in the video game industry. Companies like Naughty Dog, Rockstar, Insomniac and even Bethesda put so much time, energy and craft into creating their unique and magnificent games (like RDR2 which I'm playing now). No way a cookie-cutter, short-cut artist like Ubisoft can compete against them unless they radically change their ways.

 + Combat System: begin with Origins combat system (light, heavy, archery and overpower attack) and add to this 4 combat skills and 4 archery skills; at stories end you gain another 4 combat skills, for a total of 8 combat and 12 altogether. Makes for great and creative combat, best so far in an AC game. + Skill Tree: whole new set of skills, some of which are wicked cool (like "Stealth Master" which improves assassination skills at night). You can resets skills at any time, any place during the game for a tiny sum

 Really the problem here is there are no interesting enemies to fight. Just the same damn drones from the Ubisoft shipyard. - Conquest Battles: again, like the Naval battles, fun the first couple of times, and then gets old in a hurry. The problem here is there is little incentive: you don't get ANY reward from converting all Greek lands to either Spartan or Athenian control

 It's great that you can make a favorite piece of low-level legendary gear useful in the late game, if you pump enough resources into it. Progression comes from Odyssey's three distinct skill trees, each holds powerful abilities that can devastate the battlefield,

 At The Same time,, it's padded out with meaningless errands that make getting to those strong character moments a painstaking gauntlet.. Often Times,, the payoff of a major character reveal had been dulled because I had to spend six hours chasing my tail through half the Greek world to reach it. And Even after completing the main story, there's still so much left to uncover that I'm nearly as overwhelmed with where to go and what to do next as I was when I started

If you liked Origins, YOU'LL LOVE ODYSSEY

 If you have an aggressive combat style, the daggers and the sword will be a good fit. More of a patient fighter that prefers to wait for an opening before delivering a mighty blow? The heavy blunt or the heavy blade are just for you! Or, maybe you want an all-around weapon type that can do a bit of everything? I suggest the spear (my favorite) or the staff. I have not forgotten about you guys and gals that prefer to hang back and attack from a distance. I rarely used my bow, but it’ll become available early in the game and has a ton of unlockable skills

The only flawless game that I’ve ever played is Horizon Zero Dawn (check out my review) and that’s why it’ll always reign supreme!!  I say that, but on the flip side, the actual button press doesn't really feel that good. There's like a slight milliseconds delay that makes it feel a tad bit off and you have to get used to it. That's fine, but like it didn't feel like something I needed to get good at. it just feels like something where I personally just didn't jive with a design choice

 it's still just not quite my thing. Weapon types all feel and play differently, but I'm still not a hundred percent on it I appreciate when it's challenging though because it does get there and I do like that. What I don't like is the new emphasis on parries. This is a personal preference of course, but I'm not a fan of the slamming of the to trigger buttons to do a parry move that has a surprisingly lengthy window

 Origins previously tried to replicate the compelling, interesting, and unique side quests of The Witcher 3 and honestly goes all-in on that. Coming even closer to it, your interest will be piqued for quite a long time and see because there are just so many interesting diversions out there. There are, still, of course, like you know, cookie cutter things, but there are a lot more interesting side stories and character quests that seem like they're worth checking out. Some even tie into the overall narrative to which I appreciate, but even when they don't, you just get to meet interesting characters in weird scenarios

 You also don't have complete freedom to stop and jump out wherever all of the time. The whole boat thing is a good mechanic where I guess for everything else comes with some compromises that had to be made. but of course you're really just killing them dudes and I haven't even brought that up yet. The combat is still like 60 70 percent the same here and I'm still not crazy about the loose feel and further around camera angle

 if you have two or three of them on you at once, it can totally derail what you're doing and you'll need to either hide and pick them up one by one or go to find the bounty sponsors. You can either pay off a bounty to clear the map or you can take out sponsors which will lower your bounty level. There are benefits though to taking out the mercenaries. There are perks you'll gain when moving up to the next tier, and each mercenary has a loot drop available for you which can allow you to target them specifically if the loot would benefit your build

 The naval battles are a pretty fun touch, and depending on how much you enjoy them, you can go full on naval commander, investing in ship upgrades and dominating the seas, even to the point of taking mercerites out in the ship battles and recruiting new lieutenants for your ship. Or alternatively, you can skirt around the edges of this system and just do the bare minimum and use the ship for transport only. So in terms of complaints, it's really hard to explain. I have a lot of mixed feelings about the game

 Essentially, the headhunters are there to slow you down. In my experience, you might be wreaking havoc across one map, taking down key targets, and racing through camps and fortifications, and then suddenly a mercenary is on your tail. They're damn good at stalking you down, and if they're over your level, they can be really challenging to take down, especially if the area you're in has already been alerted to your presence. There can be a number of them hide to find you too

 Grinding. In [b]Assassin's Creed Odyssey[/b] you literally do grinding just to get access to more grinding. Good golly, y'all.

 Which, like I said, was boring. Also, yes, open battles became the main dish in the [b]Assassin's Creed Origins[/b]. Sure, the stealth was still there, but the game didn't force you to use it anymore. Exactly the opposite, again and again [b]Origins[/b] forced you to fight openly

You know how it is, even if you leveled up to the maximum level, the enemies did exactly that too and the only way to get some real advantage in battle was to get better gear

 In other words, it felt very different from what we had before, but at the same time, it was far from being a failure. Especially since the ancient Egypt looked absolutely stunning.

 You'll never get one shot by an archer who's five levels higher than you, or have to spend five minutes chopping down a sword equivalent of a bullet sponge. This system really impressed me because Ghosts of Tsushima's difficulty always manage to feel appropriate no matter what point of the campaign I was at. Enemies do get tougher and you do need to improve your gear by upgrading your sword, armor and charms to meet the difficulty curve. but the stat improvements from gear always felt secondary to the skills that you accumulate and the challenge always felt fair, even when I bumped the difficulty up to hard mode, which makes enemies more aggressive, but it never took away from the lethality of my sword
