 Honestly I was very disappointed. I can't really imagine an application where I would use these, I have another slim fan made by scythe I got some time ago and it works so much better it's not even funny.  So won't be buying Artic fans again. Lesson learned

Wasn't really a good value for the money

 The NF-A12x15 fan I was using previously wasn't too loud, but had an annoying "humm" to it, making the sound profile pretty unpleasant. The Arctic P12 Slim however, is a bit quieter and has a much more pleasant noise profil!.

**Noise**: It's actually pretty quiet (quieter than my full-tower 5820k + 2x GTX 970  build). The SF600 Gold was the loudest part of the system after undervolting the GPU, so I replaced it with an SF750 Platinum (which is in passive mode most of the time). The NF-A12x15 fan I was using previously wasn't too loud, but had an annoying "humm" to it, making the sound profile pretty unpleasant. The Arctic P12 Slim however, is a bit quieter and has a much more pleasant noise profil!

 Phanteks looks to have put a lot of design, engineering, and effort into these fans, but can they actually perform? That's right. These fans have a very familiar look and specs to other big names on the market, with the exception that these fans have an absolutely massive max RPM of 3,000 and are 30 millimeters thick. We'll test these fans using our standard suite of tests, and then we'll compare them to two very well-known competitors on the market today. Maybe we'll see some interesting results

 First, we'll test direct airflow using an anemometer and a 3D printed housing we've created to duct air. We'll be measuring the airflow in 10% PWM intervals to show the full range of the fan. But how does the T3120 stack up against the competition? Well, let's find out. OK, let's dig into the results here

 We were quite surprised by the results, especially in the radiator airflow testing, where the T3120 left both competitors behind by a healthy gap. Whether this is because of the extra 5 millimeters of depth on the fan frame, the three-phase motor, or something else, the T30 design seems to be working. Clearly, the Phanteks T3120 wins on airflow, but how loud is it compared to the competition? Well, let's find out. However, after trying the T30-120, there seems to be no reason to recommend the Toughfan 14 in any situation where the T30-120 would fit. The T30-120 running at 3000 RPM seems to do better pulling air through high resistance (the restrictive bottom dust filter on the Define R6) than the Toughfan 14 running at its maximum 2000 RPM.) I personally find the T30-120 to have an acceptable noise quality (though not as pleasant compared to the A12x25), but if near-silent or perceptually inconspicuous operation is required from your system, you would likely be better off using the A12x25 and accepting the reduction in maximum performance

Short recommendation:  This is probably the best fan on the market right now (as of 2021-09). Be sure to measure the available space in your chassis (or beside your radiator) to ensure the extra depth of a 30 mm thick fan won't be an issue, and buy this fan if it will fit. Unless noise levels are absolutely critical for your work, nothing else seems to beat the T30-120's versatility at the moment, and the fan would likely do well regardless of whether you need better performance (at higher noise) or better acoustics (lower volume) with still decent performance.  Review:  The T30-120 is a 120x120x30 mm fan, which is 5 mm thicker than your average 120 mm fan (at 120x120x25 mm)

I picked these up for my ITX PC. I run an H100i on my 5800X and an EVGA Hybrid kit on my 2080 Ti and the 3 pack was perfect for my setup. The fans themselves are much more quiet and efficient a lower RPMs than both stock fans I was running. I run them in the 2000rpm mode and have them running about ~60% all the time and for my setup I can barely hear the PC compared to before

Definitely move a lot of air at higher speeds but I have my fan curves set so they don't really ramp up unless it's pretty severe temps. I would also recommend removing the little rubber vibration dampers if you are mounting them against a radiator

Best Fans You Can Buy!

 They said, you know, we know PC cooling. We know how air moves inside of a chassis, and that's what makes this fan different. It's based on optimizing for the PC environment. So it turns out that they actually came to me a month ago, exactly, July 12th, 2021, that said, we want you to do a launch day review of our fan

 There's also the Thermaltake Toughend 12, which is sometimes 20 bucks, often it's up at 25. At that point, even though I've recommended it previously, I would not recommend it versus the Phanteks at 30. And then the Noctua at 33, sorry guys, I'm not going to recommend that anymore. Now that I've tested this on a radiator, the Noctua NF-812X25 is no longer my recommendation

 So just bear that in mind right off the bat if you are going to pick up one of these at some point that you make sure you have enough clearance in your case because they are a bit thicker than your average fan. But the other fans we'll be testing today are the Noctua NFF 12 as well as the Corsair ML 120 Pro and the Silent Wings 3 from Be Quiet, which I already have mounted right here on our testing kit. This testing kit is kind of what sparked the idea for this whole video. It was sent over by Phanteks along with their new T30 fans, and it's actually a way to objectively measure airflow and noise between fans

So the way this sort of works, I guess I'll just explain this, right now you can see that on one end of this tube, it's basically a long tunnel, on one end you have whatever fan you're testing, and you can test it in a variety of configurations

 Despite having the biggest RPM swings of any fan, it offered excellent acoustics across all restriction levels, making it pretty much just as versatile as the Phanteks T30. The Corsair ML120 Pro and Noctua NFF12 tie for being the noisiest fans in all environments, with both being especially loud when mounted against a solid case panel. The NFF12 rivals the noise levels of the Silent Wings III when unrestricted, making it a viable option as a quiet case fan if it's faced with zero restrictions, but as we've said, that's an uncommon scenario in most builds. The ML120 Pro tested to be the loudest radiator fan in the bunch, albeit this was by a small margin behind the NFF12 and Silent Wings III
