 This is my favorite all-around jacket that I've had in a long time. Wears well, light,, packable..

. will continue to wear it all fall. It has worn really well. It's only got the one pocket, it's in a great spot though

 It's going to shape around a helmet, hat,, just your noggin whatever you've got going. It's got a tiny little piece of wire that gives it a little bit of form here, keeps it off your forehead. This is my favorite all-around jacket that I've had in a long time. Wears well, light,, packable

 And it is going to repel most water. You're not going to want to take this thing out in a rainstorm. This is not your rain jacket. But In terms of lightweight, quick, easy access to weather protection

Arcteryx Squamish Hoody Review

 First of all, what do I like about this jacket? Well, it's a very, very lightweight jacket. It has extremely good wind resistance. It is not a waterproof jacket by any stress of the imagination, but it repels the wind exceptionally well. It is breathable, but I do not consider this a breathable enough jacket to do a lot of running for hikes

 It has a little bit of a part to the end that you might be able to see there that you can actually hold on with either gloves or mitts or bare hands. Obviously that you can hold or pull the zipper very easily. They also have what's called the no slip zip so the zipper won't fully come undone when you pull it across. They have these little stop gaps as as you go down the zipper

 arm length more than enough, but I bought this jacket in a size large so that I could put it over wait for the reveal my running pack in case I need a windshell over top of my running pack because I want to keep out the very light rain that it will resist, but it will keep that light rain off my running pack. I went up to a size large with this jacket for that purpose specifically. In addition, I went with the size large because I want to be able to fit thicker layers underneath it. Currently I'm in just a t-shirt but if I went with two other layers for if I'm out hiking I would be able to put this jacket on on top of a base layer and a mid-weight fleece type layer

 Guaranteed to have this jacket for years and years to come. Where am I going to use this jacket? I will continue to have this in my pack at all times, all times of the year as a wind protection, an extra layer for hiking specifically. but I also put in my backpack my running trail backpack as an extra wind jacket. I already have a running wind jacket that I use, but I'm going to put this in my pack at all times as an extra wind jacket

Arc’Teryx Squamish Jacket:  REVIEW

 There is plenty of room in this jacket. It is cut large enough for me to easily layer underneath it underneath it right now I have a Patagonia R3 I'll do a cutaway shot with me layering over a Montville Ultralight down inner jacket just so you can see how easy it is to layer underneath this piece. It's weight is five point five ounces which puts it on the heavy side of things. It's the heaviest of all the jackets we tested in our wind jacket

This is Craig Alger with pro Ike Here we had several viewers of our wind jacket videos requests: I Also test the Arc'teryx Squamish hooded jacket so I'm wearing one I put it through our air permeability or breathability test Also, our hydrostatic head test for water resistance and I also tested the wind resistance I'll share those performance results with you later. For right now, let's start off by talking about the fit and the features of this jacket For fit: I'm wearing a size large I'm a little over six foot tall, 175 pounds I have a 42 inch chest and a 33 inch waist. There is plenty of room in this jacket. It is cut large enough for me to easily layer underneath it underneath it right now I have a Patagonia R3 I'll do a cutaway shot with me layering over a Montville Ultralight down inner jacket just so you can see how easy it is to layer underneath this piece

 It's a little windy today, you may hear some gusts on the camera and this is doing a great job knocking down that wind in terms of water resistance. This ferry just below the Patagonia Houdini supporting a 200 millimeter hydrostatic head before it started leaking, but it fared much better than things like the Montaigne Slipstream GL Jacket Montville Tachyon Jacket blew us away with hell water-resistant That jacket is supporting an 800 millimeter hydrostatic head, but it's using a highly Callender nylon and there is no air permeability or breathability associate with that jacket. I'll have a video up on that jacket shortly. So how do I sum up the Arc'teryx Squamish Put a jacket I Believe this jacket targets more of an alpinist because of the helmet compatible hood and the additional features like the adjustable cuffs because you're going to be layering up underneath it and it's cut in a way that allows that and has some features in terms of the gusseted sleeves and the articulated elbows and the stretch fabric

 It's a ripstop nylon fabric. It's a heavier weight fabric than the other wind jackets we tested. The interesting thing to point out on this fabric is it is a two way mechanical stretch on it, so that helps with you know the comfort of a jacket and making sure it doesn't bind on you. In terms of performance, the jacket is more breathable than the Patagonia Houdini Which would you view that previous test video that was the most air permeable or breathable at the bottom? So this sets the new benchmark

This packs up really small which is an advantage, but I really only see myself using it in situations where I wouldn't bring my hardshell.

 To be honest, the sizing options aren’t perfect for this. This jacket is designed to go over a base layer, like a hooded wind shirt, really. The xl fiit over a tshirt perfectly for example BUT I ended up going for the slx for my purpose. It is maybe a bit long and a bit baggy as a result

This softshell jacket is lightweight enough to be perfect for cycling, rock climbing, and hiking but still durable enough to provide protection and abrasion resistance from the terrain and environment. With a helmet-compatible hood and an ample cut, this jacket also allows for layering underneath, which many other lightweight class options don't allow for.
While not the most weatherproof, the Ferrosi provides excellent 3-season protection from light precipitation and winds, making it a good choice for backpacking, alpine climbing, and mountain biking. A staple of the softshell category, this is one of the best deals that you can find.

We’ve tested a wide range of hiking pants over the years, and you’d be hard-pressed to find a better combination of comfort and performance than with Outdoor Research’s Ferrosi. Featuring the brand’s signature Ferrosi Fabric, this semi-trim-fitting pant provides an excellent mix of weight, durability, stretch, and all-around mobility. In addition, it excels at temperature regulation: We’ve found it’s tough enough to cut the wind and shed light rain but dries quickly and breathes when the thermometer starts to climb. It’s worth noting that the Ferrosi was recently updated, with highlights including a bump in sustainability—the fabric is now bluesign-approved and 46% recycled—but the winning formula has gone largely unchanged for years, which is a good thing.

The Ferrosi takes our top hiking pants spot for 2022, but we do have a couple nitpicks with the design. First off, you don’t get a built-in belt, and the drawstrings along the inside of the waistband are a less effective solution (they’re harder to quickly access and adjust if you need to tighten or loosen the fit). Additionally, the thin fabric and basic pocket layout make the Ferrosi less appealing than alternatives like the prAna Stretch Zion II below for everyday wear and travel. That said, for hitting the backcountry, it’s as good as it gets on the market currently.  This material is so durable. I'Ve scraped my way up, Chimney style pitches brushed across tree branches. While mountain biking and more and my froz hardly shows any signs of wear the soft shell material is highly wind resistant and also water resistant it'll shed a light rain pretty easily and can handle misty conditions, but it's not fully waterproof. So don't expect it to keep you dry in a downpour

Outdoor Research Men's Ferrosi Hooded Jacket

 This is a men's size large also it does have a cinch here, so you can cinch it the little hem here around your waistline. If you choose to do so, there is just that one on the one side, so these four OC hoodies are made out of that's kind of spandex stretchy material, about door research. I really love this material, it's really nice and stretchy. This is kind of more or less a mid layer, type of geek piece of gear

 This is kind of a longer fit. It is a trim fit, but it's a kind of a longer bed, and I like that, because you can kind of pull it down a little bit and kind of get it down on your body a little bit more. Maybe you want to kind of cover your backside a little bit more like that. It'S a very good feature
