 Didn't feel trim. neat, athletic, uh, purposeful. So, uh, it's worth considering a slightly smaller size than you would normally wear because of the fit and the comfort and the stretch that you get with this lovely Sigma Sl anorak. So where does the Sigma Sl fit in the layering system? Well, it's an incredibly versatile piece

 It's primarily designed to be worn on the outside, so over a base layer over a light fleece, or you know, light insulating layer to give you that protection from the elements. It's that wind resistance, that weather resistance, that incredible breathability. So when you're moving fast and you're trying to keep the weight down, this is kind of the perfect thing to pop on over the top of your layers just to give you that little bit of protection from the elements. Having said that, it does work really well as a mid layer under a gore shell

 What is it? Well, it's part of the Sigma family, and the Sigma family is all about kind of lightweight, breathable, stretchy, soft shell for versatile use in the mountains. And the uh. the suffix Sl denotes that it's super light. So it's made from a lightweight, stretchy, air, permeable, weather resistant soft shell, and it is a joy to wear

 Because the fabric is so stretchy, it's really comfortable to wear. It's long enough in the body I could get this underneath a climbing harness no problem, or underneath a rucksack hip belt and it feels great. I do prefer the medium to the large in fit. The large just felt a bit baggy

My only gripes are, 1. I wish the sleeves were a bit longer and/or had thumb loops. For me, thumb loops would be perfect so gloves would fit over it resulting in warmer hands. 2

I think the Anorak SL  is in almost perfect piece of clothing! I have used it this fall/winter ice climbing in Rocky Mountain Natl Park  and think it’s the best jacket I have bought in many years. I wear it over a Konseal hoody and a light merino top and keep it on all day. Great breathability means you won’t get sweaty on approaches while still offering exceptional wind resistance. Sheds light snow with ease

 The anorak pull-over style and minimalist are terrific! For sizing, I’m 6’ 1” and weigh 175 and the large fits great.

An almost perfect jacket

 As an adventure cyclist this thing is killer, amazing as a wind breaker on the bike, keeps you just a tad warm (with a phase sl base layer this thing kills on 5 degrees c early morning rides), breaths so well when it warms up, looks amazing, performs amazing, fits so well, packs small. Honestly cannot think of a downside this thing tick all the boxes and I am not even close to the inter use of this piece. I own a lot of Arc stuff, almost all my outerwear is from them and this just adds to my love of this brand.

It’s not always this easy to narrow down competing models and make a top pick, but among windbreaker jackets, the Patagonia Houdini Air is head and shoulders above the rest. Building off the beloved Houdini below, the new Air takes the old formula but adds a ton of breathability and comfort to the mix. The jacket pairs a double-weave liner with a standard nylon shell, offering great wind protection and a softer feel than any other design in its weight class. In many ways, the Houdini Air is the Swiss Army Knife of windbreaker jackets and makes a great option for hiking, running, mountain biking, and a wide variety of other outdoor uses.

The Patagonia Houdini is an iconic windbreaker jacket, and as a repeat winner at the top of our podium, continues to set the standard for all other jackets in this category. Despite this absurdly low weight, the Houdini is still impressively wind-resistant and withstood every adventure we wore it on, from climbing and mountain biking to hiking and boating. 
Of course, this impressively thin layer is a bit see-through, particularly in some of its lighter colors. This makes it not the best-looking model we tested.  I always throw it in my vest, just as a fail-safe when I ran Zion and I got extra cold at night. I threw this on under my heavier jackets, and it was just one more layer of insulation between my skin and so there you have it. The Patagonia Houdini, I love this shell. I would highly recommend it because it's so light and versatile, I always pack it in my vest for my hundred-mile runs if there's any chance of rain, or certainly at night as just an extra layer

I prefer the snug fit which makes it an excellent companion piece to a shell or insulated jacket. For reference I am a tweener sized human, size S Nanopuff and size M Houdini both purchased in 2011. Excellent breathability, cut, comfort.

 Considering its weight, Patagonia nailed all the right features. You can cinch the hem to block out wind at the waist, the half-elastic cuffs seal nicely around the wrists, and a single adjustment at the hood allows you to tighten it down effectively. Finally, the slight drop hem at the back is a nice touch for a little extra coverage. All in all, the amount of versatility you get for the weight is truly remarkable

 And on our trip to Patagonia, I found myself keeping the Houdini close and wearing it daily. It cut the wind nicely when we stopped for lunch while backpacking, and I hiked in it if the weather was cool or the wind was particularly rough. Considering its weight, Patagonia nailed all the right features. A bit larger or the size that you usually wear don't get it smaller because it's a tight fit I'm wearing something under
