 My name is jeff and today we'll be doing another balcony review here in vancouver, which is the uh foggy day today. For some reason today, we'll be talking about the arcturux sabre ar jacket from the white line. The sabre ar jacket features a 70 denier face fabric with a gore-tex mid-layer membrane and a light microfleece panel backpacker, which improves next-to-skin, feel the saber ar jacket is a middleweight gore-tex jacket in the white line, the lightest being the rush jacket and the heaviest being the Casio jacket, this sabre ar jacket features two side pockets, one sleeve pocket for your rfid. It has two velcro cuff adjusters

 Even in a size medium, it even looks slightly baggier on me. Getting your regular size would be a good idea if you want to layer this for all sorts of conditions, negative 10, negative 20 celsius or from as cold as you can handle to as less as you can handle your regular size will still work very well with Just the base there underneath, but i prefer a trim fit for this one, as i already have the beta sv for that kind of purpose. If you're a bigger lad, consider the Micon. It's probably the most generously cut ski shell Arcteryx makes. Plus it's only a few quid more than the Sabre AR, and slightly lighter for those backcountry days.

Hi I am looking for a new ski shell and am struggling to make a decision. Just for reference the sabre ar is out of stock here in the UK. 

1. I will be using the jacket mainly for skiing 75% resort 25% backcountry touring. However may also use for some hiking in the summer.
 
2. I live in the UK so hiking would be in British summer time so light to moderate rain. However ski in the French Alps all throughout the year so in both very cold and spring conditions. 

3. I am a larger guy so prefer a loose fit (generally wear 2XL for jackets) I also generally run quite hot. 

Any insight would be appreciated.

Ski jacket choice

Personally, I'd find it too warm for the resort (I say that as a night skier), it's not a modular solution and you definitely wouldn't want to tour with it. **Sabre AR** is a basic Gore jacket with a very slight flannel liner. It's versatile, but won't be as "breathable" as Gore Pro. It's probably a capable tour jacket, but I would probably lean more toward using it on resort days

I have to replace my 12 y/o karbon jacket and bibs and decided to splurge on a nice kit. But I don't quite understand all the differences between them? I plan on doing like 80% resort skiing and some ski touring. I understand the Macai is insulated but it's more about the 3 other jackets that the differences become subtle. Especially the pants and bibs too, I heard Arcteryx aren't too great about it.

What would recommend me?

All right we're here today to talk to you about a jacket from one of our favorite brands. Arc'Teryx today I picked the Arc'teryx Sabre jacket, which comes from their white line, which is their ski products. It'S a gore-tex shell, 3 layer, it's heavy duty, great for extreme weather and in warmer weather it's a really good product for backcountry downhill. It covers a lot of ground in terms of what you want to do so, let's get into it so first off what you're gon na see is

 So, let's get in on the inside, so there's a pocket right here, that's big enough to hold a pair of goggles sunglasses. You can put a pet, an extra pair of gloves in there, like, I said, not a lot of not a ton of pockets on this. On the arktech shanks, like you, would some spider jacket or something like that, but it does have big pockets that are very useful. That has a pair of goggles in it

 It does have a full powder. Skirt here is stretch on the bottom is stretch. Is this way, and also if you have Arc'teryx pants, it'll snap to the pants? If you do a lot of powder skiing and you and your comment and that your jackets constantly rising, you can actually clip it into the pants and it will rise. So it'll come together, it'll snap, it comes and you can snap it in two different spots

 You know several inches below the waist and it is a relaxed fit. So if you prefer have a little more space in your jacket and you like that bag of your look, the Sabre jacket is the one for you. So it has a helmet compatible hood, which means that the hood will fit over a helmet, which I actually use a lot. I highly recommend it: it's got it

WHY YOU WANT THE ARC'TERYX SABRE JACKET

 The standard Sabre Jacket uses a standard 3L Gore-Tex fabric with a “lo-loft” flannel backer and 80-denier nylon face fabric.The Sabre LT Jacket also uses a standard Gore-Tex membrane and an 80-denier nylon face fabric, but it features Gore’s much more supple C-Knit backer. The result is a much softer, quieter, and more comfortable feel. The standard Sabre Jacket can feel a bit stiff and cumbersome, but I’ve never had these issues with the Sabre LT Jacket

This is NOT a tight resort fitting jacket. It does however give you all the bells an whistles you could want in a hard-core snowboarding / skiing shell with the ability to move easily.

I bought this for an upcoming ski trip so that I could have a powder skirt and something a bit more substantial than a shell for added warmth without too much bulk. It exceeded expectations and has great pocket storage and a good quality/easy to use zipper for the weight of the coat. Some brands I tried had flimsy zippers that didn’t match the quality of the coat. The colors are great, it’s not too hot, and I’m definitely impressed
