Hey everybody today! I'm going to show you the Arc'teryx Rust Jacket. one of the pinnacle Jack is in the Arctic ski line. so this jacket is a three layered gore-tex It is designed with the backcountry skier in mind. It's got a regular fit, it's one point three ounces so it trims some weight from some of the heavier jackets from Arc'teryx and it's got a heavy duty gore-tex outer and inner so that if you're constantly putting your gear to the test, this is gonna be the jacket for you

 It's got pull strings on the on the hood. It's got a something that'll take the volume out of the hood. So if you don't want to wear your ski helmet and you're using the jacket for other purposes and you have the elements coming down, you can take the volume out of the hood and it makes it smaller so it fits over a baseball cap or a beanie or something like that. There's also essential on the back give you a little more protection around the neck and there's cinches on the front as well on each side right here that'll come down and allow you to shrink the opening in the hood if you are in some really extreme conditions

 It's going to keep you warm, it's going to keep you dry in all conditions, so let's get into it. So on the outside of the jacket, we've got a lot of the standard Arc'teryx features a good easy to work waterproof zipper. This is important as you can do it, use it with one hand. It also has so these pockets are really large

 so this jacket is a three layered gore-tex It is designed with the backcountry skier in mind. It's got a regular fit, it's one point three ounces so it trims some weight from some of the heavier jackets from Arc'teryx and it's got a heavy duty gore-tex outer and inner so that if you're constantly putting your gear to the test, this is gonna be the jacket for you. If you're really hard on your stuff like I am, this is the way to go. It's got definitely got some features that's gonna that I'll point out to you along the way that you'll see are definitely designed for the backcountry skier in mind, but it's still a great jacket for all-around use as well

THE ARC'TERYX RUSH JACKET REALLY IS THAT GOOD

 It has great all-weather protection for all parts of the mountain. This is strictly a shell so there's no integrated insulation. It is a relaxed fit so it is something that allows you to have multiple layers on underneath in order to stay warm. This is the 2018 version

 Now it is currently available in the Arterix outlet for 487 dollars if you can find it there. The Rush is is of new variation of the popular Rush ski jacket. It has lightweight insulation that is integrated in it. It had the is in the name stands for insulation

 You don't have to pack an extra layer because it is has one already built in. So let's consider the cons. The first con for the Rush is it's going to be the pricier of the option, so the Saber Lt. you can find those in their discontinued colors such as this golden mine color that we had for the the Sabre Lt

 It has lightweight insulation that is integrated in it. It had the is in the name stands for insulation. The insulation that it does use is called Octalof Insulation, so this is a great addition to the Gore-tex waterproof shell as well as giving a breathable insulation to keep you warm in the backcountry when you're skiing or snowboarding. It comes in multiple sizes and colors as well

Wore it almost 100 days last winter between resort and backcountry and have no real complaints. Durability and waterproofness live up to the usual arc and gore pro standards. Feels well constructed despite not being one of the made in Canada articles but I can’t confirm yet if it’ll stand the test of time like their old products did. Hopefully it does or if not hopefully the warranty/repair department has stopped being so finicky since covid is calming down

6’2” 190. Large is perfect. Don’t downsize - this is a shell and should pair with nano air or proton lt with a base layer under.

Only drawback is lack of Napoleon pockets. Please please please add one or two in next generation and I’ll buy another one! Would make this the perfect ski jacket. Also maybe use the new goretex pro stretch coming out this year.

 I tried the Rush because of the Goretex Pro material. I was hoping that it would be the answer. While it does breathe significantly better than the regular 3 layer Goretex, when I do start sweating, it gets even more uncomfortable than my old jacket. Vapor ends up condensing on the inside liner of the jacket, the material stops breathing altogether because it is wet and at that point I get soaked

 My low rating is just from a personal perspective, because Goretex and even Goretex Pro simply doesn't breathe well enough to keep me dry. It keeps the snow and wind out perfectly, but I used it in a few snow storms where I had to quit skiing half way through the day because I was soaked from the inside. I took my jacket off in the lodge and it was literally soaking wet on the liner. Not a nice feeling

Goretex doesn't work for me

With this jacket, I am comfortable wearing just a base layer and light fleece from around 10 F - 40 F and regardless of wind.

I have mostly been using this jacket for resort skiing and being outdoors during snowstorms.

Great quality. Very stylish. We live in Minnesota, so the warmth of a jacket is most important, and let me tell you, this is warm. The outer fabric is thick and durable

 Today we're going to take a look at the Quicksilver Next Mission Plane Jacket. As you can see it's a great jacket, it's a regular fit design so it's just going to give you that moveability that you need when you're out on the slopes performing all your tricks etc. All the stitching around this, as you can see everything around there, it's got taped seams. Now what this means is the lining of tape underneath every seam is going to ensure none of those harsh elements or the snow mainly is going to get in via the seams keeping nice and dry inside, it's very high quality

 Then coming down right to the bottom, you've got your hem cinch cord, you simply pull on it like so, it's going to draw the bottom of the jacket around tighter towards the body and again just make sure none are snow and none of the wind is going to ride up inside the jacket via the bottom. Turn this around now and you see very nice sized hood, this is removable, you just take a look at the bottom here, it's held on by poppers and the poppers are very, very hard so it's not just going to fly off obviously if you just haven't, if you've just got this connected and you've also got a nice adjuster there so it is going to help just tighten the hood around your face, make sure none of the elements get in there and it does have a nice stiff peak design also. Just turn it back around and I've also incorporated as you come round just these nice hidden adjusters on the front for the hood, again when it is in tight touch pull that, the bottom of the hood is going to come in tighter around your cheek area and just keep you nice and warm if you need it. So overall really nice insulated jacket from Quicksilver, please take a look at simplypeace
