Hey guys, john here with for the love of gear gear reviews, and today um, i am going to just give you my first impressions of the um arctaryx incendo super light jacket. They have a the incendo hoodie, which is a slightly heavier weight. Hooded version of this jacket i wanted to go with whatever was going to be as light as freaking possible, and i don't need a hood, so i went with this jacket um. It weighs, i think, something like two ounces

 11. 170 ish pounds 43 inch chest. So i'm kind of a kind of a barrel chest guy yeah: it's got definitely a nice trim fit. One thing to note is that there's really no elastic um on this set? Well, sorry, there there is elastic here on the cuffs, the waist

 They were all positive, but i'm saying you know you're not going to want to wear a heavy backpack with this because it is going to upgrade this material. It'S really only meant to be worn, i think with uh yeah, just like a running vest or nothing at all, but yeah i mean you know that arc tarik's meant to make this really really light one. You can look at their logo on there, which is normally really stands out and it kind of fades into nothingness.  The price is reasonable for a quality product that looks and feels like it will hold up well for many years.

 By varying the weight of the layer underneath the jacket I have found I can be very comfortable in a variety of conditions. The fit is trim but a medium is perfect for me. The snap on the front allowing me the ability to unzip and vent the jacket without it flapping is a clever touch. I am 5 foot 10 inches and weigh 155

The Best Running Jacket

 Jacket feels a bit warmer than heavier single-layer softshells  as it is more wind resistant. I like the fit and cut, im 197cm tall and 86kg and the sleeves are long enough (XL), also thanks to having the fabric a bit longer outside of the palm. I use it for a walks without a backpack as well. While the material is thin, it survived a small encounter with thorns as I was able to unplug them carefully before any damage was done

 I like the small details like the button on the chest or button for packing the hood. Below I add a video from my trail running trip in the country side of Czech Republic.

2 ounces, weighs considerably less than the standard Norvan. However, the SL doesn’t use the same 3-layer Gore-Tex, instead opting for Gore-Tex with Shakedry construction, which leaves the waterproof membrane exposed to maximize weight savings and breathability. The SL’s ultra-minimalist design does mean it’s less versatile than the standard Norvan, but it’s an incredible trail-running piece. What We Like Excellent water and wind resistance for such a lightweight and packable shell

 But for non-climbers, the Norvan gets the nod. Finally, REI Co-op’s Drypoint GTX similarly toes the line between rain jacket and hardshell. The 3-layer Gore-Tex Active construction offers excellent weather protection and breathability—it kept us dry and never felt clammy during long days of hiking with a fully-loaded pack in Patagonia. And despite the lack of pit zips or vents, the REI jacket does have more hiking and backpacking-centric features including hand-warmer pockets, a cinchable hood, and Velcro wrist closures

 But during a serious rainstorm on the flanks of Aoraki/Mount Cook with very powerful winds, I remained dry despite some tough alpine weather.  In terms of features, this is where the Norvan differs from other heftier models. The elasticized, non-helmet-compatible hood is simple but offers nice coverage and has a small brim that deflects rain from dripping down into your face (I was even able to stretch the hood over my climbing helmet to prevent rain and wind from entering the vents). Similarly, the cuffs are elasticized on the inside of the wrist and extend along the back of the hand to keep water from creeping up your sleeve

I've done some hiking, I've done some gravel biking, done some mountain biking, and this thing holds up so well and it packs down so small.  Let's see what this thing has to offer. So one of the main features of this jacket is that it uses a gore-tex fabric with Gore-c knit backer technology. This technology makes it so that it's super breathable, but also makes it so that it's not super loud and crinkly so when you're out there running doesn't sound like you're wearing a garbage bag.  I'm wearing a medium right now I'm about six foot two 170 ish pounds depending on what I'm training for, and the medium fits. Fantastic! Most jackets aren't quite long enough in the sleeve for me, but this one comes right up to the cuff and drapes over a little bit, which has a really nice integration. When you're wearing gloves, when it starts snowing, you're just getting really cold out. This is it for itself

 but it truly is the best running jacket out there. I Can sweat I Don't get that clammy feeling. the fits Fantastic! I Can wear it with a long sleeve in the cold winter months I Can wear it with a short sleeve when it's a little bit warmer out. It has really high candle power reflectivity bands on it along the cuff and the hem, which really show up in the darker winter months which is always great if you're concerned about safety

If you're on the trails, you don't have to be as careful with this jacket as you did in years past. Arc'teryx has made it tougher so it will withstand you know, brushes against trees and things like that without tearing

Really bummed Arc messed up one of their best W/B jackets for UL backpacking by adding a pocket with zipper and pull tab right on the hip belt line. Really narrows the use for this one since no one will want to wear a pack with any sort of hip belt with it. I realize it's designed for trail running-ish, but why rule out other uses? All they needed to do was keep the raised chest pockets like the Zeta FL had and this would be perfect. Please Arcteryx, keep everything the same, just bring back the two chest pockets like the Zeta FL!
