So if you are familiar with our videos, you'll know that i'm about six foot three got a 42 inch chest 34 inch waist and weigh about 13 and a half stone, and this is a size large and the fit is much better. I think it's the most significant update and revision for the atom lt autumn winter 20 version uh. It just feels fantastic

 I mean i've got particularly skinny wrists, so cups are never tight on me, but this one is snug enough to seal in the warmth without being too open and baggy, but stretchy enough to go over gloves or mitts. So how does the arc terex atom lt hoody fit? Well, it fits much better.  Lining the revised and updated atom lt so feature set for the atom. Lt is kept fairly minimal. Bearing in mind it's designed to be lightweight, hence the name: lt lightweight it's designed to pack up small, so you can stuff it away in your pack, so it's not festooned with pockets and features. But there are some significant upgrades over the previous model

 It'S got a trico soft fleecy lining, which is a really nice update on the old one, makes it really comfy instant sort of coziness as soon as you put your hands in there and they've got uh little kind of plastic pullers on here, so you can grab Them easily with gloves or mitts on and then on the inside. On the left hand, side you get a little chest pocket a great place to stash your phone away, keep the battery warm make sure your batteries don't deplete in cold weather and then down at the bottom. You'Ve got uh some revised cord pullers uh arc. Turrets are now using a much much lighter weight cord grip at the bottom, just to keep the weight down and to reduce the bulk and they're situated towards the back here

Mixed review - ultimately returned this jacket. I have and really like my older Atom LT jacket and purchased this hoping to get a similar piece that would function better in colder temperatures. I think the insulation weight and design is great, but the shell fabric is significantly different than older Atom jackets and feels cheap - its a louder and stiffer material. Fit is perhaps athletic - I feel that the small is a little baggier than the Atom LT on my 6' 150lb frame

It looks to me you need a breathable mid-layer which will fit under the trim fitting Zeta AR, when the need arises, but still won't cause you to overheat.

To compliment that when you stop, get the Nuclei FL, which is highly packable and designed specfically for preventing:

This means no down jacket, since it doesn't breath well, as well as no Atom AR since you will get too hot.

First me, run warm when moving but when I stop I get cold. I also do a lot of car camping but slept under a tarp this year in the back country (I was lucky it turned out to be pretty mild, I didn't get to test the rating on my sleeping bag or pad), I want to increase the backcountry camping in the future paired with extended hikes. However when sat around in camps, I get chills. I'm not looking for skiing wear, more hiking and wet urban and for those rainy or dry camps - remembering that I get hot quick when I walk/hike/ski (resort).

For outwear, my first Arcteryx piece, I settled on the Zeta AR - spoke with a friendly and helpful employee in store. Designed for hiking, generally fits slimmer and generally smarter than the other jackets so does well to double up as a city jacket for those rainy days commuting saving on multiple purchases - I was torn on this or the Beta AR for my first investment. It has the pit zips so when hiking I can get some breathability there. 

My dilemma - mid-layers (I have Icebreaker merino base layers). Caveat here is that the Zeta AR is slim so not that much room to add to much underneath without restricting mobility.

I'm thinking I need a couple of mid-layers. Scenarios in my head:

* Moving walking/hiking - dry or wet but I get hot so breathable or not super insulating. 
* Sat around in damp camps, either car camping or after hikes.
* Sat around in cool but dry camps. 
* I don't want to create dampness from my body getting too hot in this effective gear.
* If hiking do I want light/packable options to the scenarios above?

There are so many choices and I need to be mindful of my budget and struggle to see what options or combinations I can use for multi purposes to go easy on the investment. I'm left stuck making the right decisions. I would like to draw on your experiences and suggestions.

Mid layers help please!

I live in the Northeast, and last winter was absolutely brutal. With rumblings that the coming winter will be even worse, I was in search of a coat that would keep me warm while walking to the train, but would not weigh me down. I hate heavy winter coats that restrict movement. After much research, I decided to bite the bullet and purchase the Arc'teryx Atom AR

  This jacket exceeded my expectations. It is amazing. It is hands-down the warmest jacket I have ever had. Weight-wise, it is lighter than a hoodie, and literally feels like you are not wearing a jacket at all

I was looking for a more comfortable, sporty, breathable sun shirt for hiking than the button-down fishing shirts I usually wear. 

The pros: This shirt is very breathable and the fabric is incredibly soft and light. It is very comfortable. The print is also more subtle in person than in the pictures, which I like.

Very comfy and light, but pilled almost immediately.

Did not have pattern on it as pictured-item received was just all solid colored. Still a great fit and product but FYI if anybody else orders

I originally purchased a  Large but it was too big and returned for a medium which fits perfect and is still looses enough to feel flowy and  breezy. For reference, I typically wear a medium in shirts/flannels/mid-layers

  Also, the fabric had permanently stretched out in some spots under the backpack's straps. So disappointed because it was perfect in every other way.  It just won't last under a pack.

 Also, the draw cord would sit right underneath the hip belt for my hiking pack so I would have to either pull it up or down to keep it from creating a rub spot. If they’re looking for a feminine detail perhaps a gentle scallop or subtle lace detail around the hood opening…? Or a subtle curved hem at the bottom without the drawstring. 

 The fit in the body was pretty good (I’m a 34C in the bust, ordered Med), but wish the sleeves were a little longer. When using the thumb holes I can feel the material pulling across my shoulders when I reach forward. (I have broad shoulders and long arms- The large in the smoky quartz was great in the shoulders and sleeve length but big in the body/chest) Wish the sleeves had a curved hem to cover the backs of hands or finger holes to hold it over the backs of the hands. 

With all that being said this is still one of the best efforts I’ve seen for a sun protection shirt that actually looks somewhat feminine and not just like a piece of athletic gear.

 The smoky quartz was not great with my skin tone. Wish they had more bright/jewel tone colors instead of earth colors. The fit in the body was pretty good (I’m a 34C in the bust, ordered Med), but wish the sleeves were a little longer.
