User Experience

Apple still dominates the tablet market.

I switched to the M1 MacBook Pro in 2020 and the improvements were astounding. Those improvements don't really seem to have quite the same impact on the iPad, and that's mostly because it's still a victim to iPadOS. I don't imagine that Apple has any plans on allowing its iPads to run MacOS, due to cannibalization of the MacBook market, but iPadOS has its limitations. I do not think the iPad is ready to replace your laptop quite yet, but the power is there to do so

A decent little tablet for the money.

It also has plenty of storage right out of the box and you can add more if you need to by adding an SD card. And for what she does on it (mentioned above), this has plenty of speed and memory. To her, game playing is Solitaire or Word games, so I'm not talking about it being great for gaming that requires lots of processing power. But for just everyday internet stuff, the tablet works great

9”, this is not as big of an improvement as I thought it would be. Yes, this is faster but unless you’re a pro or gamer, you probably won’t notice a big difference from the chips a few years ago. Battery Life

One tiny hiccup, but all is well now.

The battery life is awesome. I can sit and edit for hours without being interrupted to charge it. I actually don’t think it’s ever told me to charge it, I just do after I am done with it. The touch screen is very responsive as well

Nice smaller tablet

The battery life is excellent, as is the screen. It boots quickly and the OS is not as “buggy” as is typical for Android. I have found myself using it for more than reading, including online shopping, email, general web browsing, and social media. My son likes to watch some of his children’s shows on it and the sound quality is great

Camera Quality

Waited to upgrade for several years - worth it!

It’s effortless and smooth. The M1 makes a huge difference. + the camera is amazing and the depth sensor opens worlds of possibilities for immersive, but you’ll likely rarely use it + it’s an Apple so the resell value is great. This reduces the cost of ownership because when you upgrade in a few years you can still sell for a good amount

The best budget tablet on the market!

Here are the cons: Camera is absolutely horrific, can be slow if very backed up with running apps or notifications, and hitches from time to time. Weight

Bad screen, heavy, cumbersome, bad keyboard, etc.

This 12.9 iPad is huge and heavy, making it inconvenient to use, which is exactly what the iPad was designed NOT to be. The screen is "ghosting," meaning if you're using at night on a black background, white letters or images have a halo effect. Not good for night time use

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 lite, and the same as you, the reason I bought it is because I want to use it as an e-reader. To be honest, it is indeed quite heavy on one hand, even worse when you put a case on it. It is not terribly heavy, but it is just not comfortable after 15 minutes of reading. To overcome that problem, I usually end up reading with my hand resting on my lap

The smaller iPad is cute, but the 12.9" screen size was better for us and the 2TB capacity makes this the perfect iPad for us.

Delighted with product

I wanted a tablet that was both easily held in one hand and as close as possible to my Samsung Android smartphone. The Samsung Tab A7 Lite 8.7" met both requirements perfectly. The display is sharp and clear with vibrant colors
