Battery life is not good. Average battery for the iPad Air 4 is 10 hours.  Definitely doesn't last that long.

I’m delighted to say that—apart from some stability issues with copying clips from SD cards in Files and some export instability with LumaFusion (the app’s fault, not Apple’s)—this sucker destroys light to moderate video editing with H264 and even some H265 video

Apple is getting really darn close, and I like it.

  Cons: They moved the fingerprint reader to the top corner, presumably to increase the size of the display. Locating the reader on the corner impacts the software UI driving endless changes that have negative value, and add up to a sizeable reduction in quality of user experience (IMO). Apple needs to accept that they should create or buy in-screen fingerprint technology. A tragic design decision

 SO, the 3rd SP4 is much better in this regard, it still has a bit of a yellow tint on the far right hand side of the screen about 3/4" wide - I'll give it a bit of time to see if it improves, but it doesn't bode well (the third time is not the charm here...)

The Surface Pro 4 falls short of greatness - that about sums it up! The SP4 is a brilliantly engineered piece of hardware, however, there are most definitely quality control problems and bugs that should have been caught before release. I've been working in IT for 15 years and I can honestly say, I would NOT recommend the SP4 to anyone (yet!).  Here's my experience: The first SP4 I received was DOA - I was really bummed when I couldn't even get it to power up (even after charging for an hour and following the "two button" shutdown procedure in an attempt to resuscitate it). I took the dead SP4 to the closest Microsoft Store here in Atlanta and they swapped it, no questions

  Aside from the screen issues I encountered, the hardware itself is amazing - the i7 is very fast and runs much cooler than its predecessor, the fan doesn't run as often, backside doesn't get as hot and it's not nearly as obnoxious as the fan in the SP3. Windows Hello logon with the built in infrared camera is wonderful. The speakers sound as good as the SP3. The magnetic pen mount on the left side is handy

This is lazy, build into your Desktop apps a "mobile ui" that takes over when the Surface Pro switches to Tablet Mode or build in a Mobile UI conversion/translation layer right into the foundation of Windows 10. *Mobile & Desktop "Settings Apps" - you've carried over "Control Panel" but push the user towards a "Settings App" even in Desktop mode? Again this is "lazy design" rewrite/write a conversion layer to make Control Panel, touch friendly and when in tablet mode..

 So Microsoft making great hardware and a new version of Windows designed to switch between Tablet & Full OS? Had to try because Apple continues to cripple iOS on iPad/iPad Pro. So here's the Pros/Cons and why I returned the Surface Pro 4.  Pros: * Powerful Hardware & Solid Build Materials in Tablet Form * Light Weight (for all the power you get) * Awesome screen/display * Decent Battery Life (using battery saving mode)  Cons: * Windows 10 is having an identity crisis Microsoft! Put minds and talent into integrating the "desktop" and "mobile" UI's and creating a consistent, predictable user experience across both across tablet/mobile modes. * Office & Outlook 2016 will not function in "tablet/mobile" mode but the Windows 10 mail client (Outlook Mobile basically) is designed for touch? The pro user (your real target for this $1500 hybrid) needs all of the tools and features of Outlook 2016 especially with Exchange Email accounts to be accessible in the mobile environment and optimized for a touch/stylus and virtual keyboard

So close to great, but still SO FAR AWAY from it.

 I downloaded the updates from Microsoft website, desperately trying to improve the situation. It did a bit but never enough. So, conclusion was eminent, I got to replace it with something else.

 As I configured my new devise, the first day of using was a bad surprise. The battery could hardly survive 4 to 5 hours of usage though I used the same tricks of power saving mode and low brightness level. I downloaded the updates from Microsoft website, desperately trying to improve the situation. It did a bit but never enough

It was such hard and sad decision I made to sell my Surface Pro 4 after less than a month of using it. Why?? It’s battery life. And it’s too serious for me. I do travel a bit, at least once a week

Not the Microsoft Surface those things don't last beyond 2 years. They have the worst rating from Ifixit regarding battery replacements and user replaceable parts.
