Anker Soundcore Motion Boom vs Kicker Bullfrog Jump

I am a fan of bass myself, and in combination with the elaborate complexity of percussive dimensions, the articulate and winding avenues of masterful bass rhythms are second to none. Still, the bass prominence is an obvious design choice for the XB43, and fortunately is executed well. Just know that should nearby (likely apartment situated) neighbors be a concern of yours, you'll not reap the full glory of this speaker without disturbing them.

Behind the large, curved speaker grill paneling screwed into place on the front and back panels, the Bullfrog Jump has some very large drivers—dual 4-inch drivers augmented by 3-inch and 4-inch passive bass radiators. The pairs of drivers and radiators are arrayed in opposite directions for a room-filling stereo sound. A rubberized bottom panel keeps the speaker from moving around—a real concern considering its power—and there's also a threaded screw mount for attaching to compatible outdoor gear.

The Anker Soundcore Motion Boom is the loudest Bluetooth speaker we tested with a smaller and more portable design. It comes with a carrying handle built-in to help you bring it along with you when you're out and about. It's rated IPX7 for water resistance, certifying it to be immersible in a meter of water for up to 30 minutes. This well-built stereo speaker also has a long-lasting battery life of almost 40 hours, making it great for long listening sessions spent outdoors

I've reviewed three $100 Anker Soundcore portable Bluetooth speakers in the last year or so and they've all been quite good for that price. The Motion Plus is arguably the best-sounding compact Bluetooth for speaker for $100 while the Rave Neo, which appears to have been replaced by the Trance Go, works well for outdoor listening. When I first got this product it took a while to pair to my iphone 10 but eventually synced up and worked ok. When it worked the sound was awesome but I would continue to have connectivity issues. I recently upgraded my phone to an iPhone 13 and now the device is no longer discoverable and will not allow me to connect via Bluetooth. I reached out to the manufacturer and they said they could repair for $75, sheesh!…new unit is $99

That's a big ask, especially when you consider that even the most expensive models in this list of our favorite Bluetooth speakers sell for $299 (£230, AU$400).
