The 6 Loudest Bluetooth Speakers - Spring 2022

Anker Soundcore Motion Boom for best bang for your buck. It's quite amazing the deep bass they get from this little speaker.

I went with the Exos-9. Removed the built-in compressor and used Oluv's EQ settings. It is decently heavy, but not bad in my opinion. I'd take it anywhere 😄

There is an offical carrying case, but a Kickstarter case will also be available for who knows how long in the future.

The Aiwa Exos-9 while not as loud, is still decently loud. I clocked around 110db and that was two steps away from full volume. Didn't want to go that far.

I would say the 1 speaker to rule them all that isn't insanely priced is the Aiwa Exos 9.  Retails for $300 and sounds absolutely amazing!  Completely crushes anything that sells for less than $500.  I use mine as a stand alone speaker that stays plugged in and on a table in my living room.  If that's what you want your's for, it's your best bet by far. 

For a portable speaker I would buy the Soundcore Motion Boom.  Much more base than the Exos 3 and is also much louder with the right EQ settings.  Don't get me wrong, the Exos 3 is a nice speaker and sounds great, but Aiwa needed to price it in the same range as the Motion Boom/Motion+ to be competitive.  Considering you can get 2 Motion Boom speakers for the price of 1 Aiwa Exos 3, it's a no brainer.

So it seems like the market is purely saturated with sub-$100 trash and there aren't any high-end options that is a 1-speaker-to-rule-them-all kinda speaker for a high price.

So, from what I know of my options, seems I should just get a versatile combo of speakers. Aiwa Exos 9, Sound Motion Boom or the Aiwa 3 would be my best options(?) While I've also seen the W-King D9 - I hadn't ever heard of it and the way people comment about it, reeks of astroturfing...

My intentions: Well, until I have oil-rich $$$ for a 10k sound system, these will be my temporary poverty at-home speakers. I figure I'll buy a smaller one and a big boi. 

But what'll always be the case is needing 'em for when I am on the road. I'd like versatility. As in - have Exos 9 &amp; Exos 3 &amp; Aiwa X-100 and have the big boi option for a stationary beach day. For a 3-4 day hiking trip, can bring the Exos 3 or the Aiwa X-100 depending how tough life is going to be. 

So I am tempted to cop all Aiwa, for easy connectivity/hoping they'll throw me a deal. But pleaseeee tell me there are some crazy high-end portable BTS I am not privy too.

Don't Know if an Audiophile would use a portable BT Speaker... but hypothetically what'd they buy (w/ budget for 1-2 speakers @ $500)? I'm an Audiophile-Lite™ so just the best bang (aka clean, non-muddy bass &amp; quality sound) for my buck.

 Indoors, I kept the volume at more moderate levels, and was overall pleased with what I heard.

I've reviewed three $100 Anker Soundcore portable Bluetooth speakers in the last year or so and they've all been quite good for that price. The Motion Plus is arguably the best-sounding compact Bluetooth for speaker for $100 while the Rave Neo, which appears to have been replaced by the Trance Go, works well for outdoor listening. The newest of the bunch is the Motion Boom reviewed here.

 Though musical elements are still easy to pick out and offer a decent degree of separation but overall it is a slightly narrower sound. However that is also something I could say for a lot of other Boombox speakers I've tested so I'm not going to be too critical here especially considering the price point we're at. In terms of sheer volume though the Motion Boom is one of the loudest speakers I've tested even out doing the Sony XB43, XB33, LG PN7X Boom and JBL Xtreme 3 though not by a huge margin it has to be said. The most important factor when it comes to volume as I've already mentioned is that as this thing goes seriously loud it can do it without sacrificing bass at higher volumes unlike many of the speakers I just mentioned

 That basically means it can be fully submerged a meter deep into water for up to 30 minutes and yes it actually floats in water too which is always handy. To be honest here Soundstage isn't as wide as I'd like to hear but given the price it's not that surprising. Though musical elements are still easy to pick out and offer a decent degree of separation but overall it is a slightly narrower sound. However that is also something I could say for a lot of other Boombox speakers I've tested so I'm not going to be too critical here especially considering the price point we're at

I want to get a solid, loud and portable Bluetooth Speaker, I often read that the Motion Boom is pretty the best and loudest speaker in the price range.

With the rear rubber flap fully closed, it's waterproof and floats if dropped in water (great for days at the beach or swimming pool)  If you want to splurge, buy two and pair them together as dedicated "Right" and "Left" channel speakers by pressing the TWS (True Wireless Stereo) button.  Just be aware of this depending on your uses, if you plan on having it more stationary make sure it will fit.

 And the second you go outside with these speakers, the Plus falls on its face whereas the Boom is thumping and carrying that sound.  In the end I went with the Boom because it seemed more well rounded, the plus really feels like it is made for a specific purpose and I don't fit that purpose. If in doubt I would recommend the Boom to anyone, and only if you think it sounds bad, then give the Plus a shot, but for the majority I think they will prefer the Boom. And don't forget you can set custom EQs on these through the app, do some youtube searches and try out some custom EQs, that is what really made the Boom the easy choice for me

 Not sure I will ever be in the situation to fully test the battery, a full weekend of camping was no problem at all. Also love the Bass Boost button on the device so it's not reliant on the app, for podcasts I turn it off and then when I listen to music I turn it on and it works really well with the EQ setup I like.  Only downside is hard to call a downside, but that would be size. If you want bigger sound you need a bigger device, so can't knock it for being big

Got this and the Motion+ at the same time as I could not decide which was right for me based on reviews. Watched a bunch of videos, but still wasn't sure.  Hopefully I can make this simple for those in the same boat, the Motion+ audio quality in the highs is definitely better, however lacks bass. So a very load and clear iPhone/iPad style sound which you don't feel as there isn't real bass

 Worked fine with existing controls and media tuning included on my phone. I own a couple BOSE portable speakers which cost far more than this Soundcore Boom unit. My opinion is that that the Soundcore unit has superior sound, better battery life and it floats! No worries about a little rain on it.

 My peeve with other BT speakers in my collection is that it uses red for charging and green for charged, or vice versa, when I'm red-green colorblind.  "Okay, so why not five stars?"  Because most of you in this review section were so extra and over the top with your cheerleading, that the sound quality, while overall pretty good not great, in terms of quality, accuracy, bass, mids, trebles, the whole nine, it's just not commensurate with the garish reviews. I'll put it another way: The only reason I am disappointed in this device is precisely because all the hype gave me over-inflated expectations.  It's as if the people writing these reviews have never heard any audible sounds in their lives before
