Anker Soundcore Motion Boom vs JBL Link 20

I am a fan of bass myself, and in combination with the elaborate complexity of percussive dimensions, the articulate and winding avenues of masterful bass rhythms are second to none. Still, the bass prominence is an obvious design choice for the XB43, and fortunately is executed well. Just know that should nearby (likely apartment situated) neighbors be a concern of yours, you'll not reap the full glory of this speaker without disturbing them.

I have a JBL Link 10 in the bathroom. Has great sound, works off battery, also supports Bluetooth so you could use it camping etc, waterproof (although I don't have it in the shower itself). It also works as part of a speaker group so when my morning routine kicks in and the radio starts and I go to the bathroom, just turn it on (takes about 30seconds to boot up) and it automatically joins in with the speaker group. I probably have to charge it every 3 weeks

I've reviewed three $100 Anker Soundcore portable Bluetooth speakers in the last year or so and they've all been quite good for that price. The Motion Plus is arguably the best-sounding compact Bluetooth for speaker for $100 while the Rave Neo, which appears to have been replaced by the Trance Go, works well for outdoor listening. ) The Link 20 sounds best at 75 percent volume or less. It can get loud when cranked up, but you will get some distortion as you push the volume to max levels, particularly with bass-heavy and more complicated tracks that have a lot instruments playing at once.At times, it sounds better than the UE Megablast, which costs 50 percent more. That may sound like a strange thing to say, but all these wireless speakers have digital signal processors (DSP) that process sound in their own particular way

They're like the cheapest subs here...! Besides the standard JBL Link, Yamaha and Bose subwoofers, they're the cheapest "audiophile" subs

*** Custom EQ is The Key Feature *** The way our ears hear music is why home stereos have a "Loudness Compensation" button to cut mid-range. Pro musicians & sound men do the same thing with graphic equalizers and the resulting curve resembles a "U" or a "smiley-face". Being able to do this with the Soundcore phone app's 9-band EQ is a "game changer". It transforms the sound … but only IF you know how to set it ("mid-scoop" is not one of the standard Presets … it needs to be created as a custom setting) As a suggestion to Soundcore, they will get even more enthusiastic, happy customers and great reviews if "Mid-Scoop" is added as one of the four standard Presets in a future firmware update

Battery not great, 4 hours off plug, but works fine for us as we keep it plugged in bathroom, then unplug to take into shower.
