Anker Soundcore Motion+ vs Yamaha HS8

Brought the anker soundcore motion+ based on reviews to replace my ancient bose soundlink mini that died. The sound, even though newer bluetooth standard is no way near the rich attractive sound of the bose and I'm now sending it back. Im just shocked that the reviews were misleading or that after all these years the soundlink still sounds so good and size so compact.

This Soundcore Motion Plus has an even more solid bass and clear treble and is a perfect size for our small living room. The bass boost is solid and with 30W of power should fill most spaces with thundering volume. Two devices can be linked for a true stereo effect, but for a small room the sound experience with a single unit is excellent The device is water and splash resistant for outdoor use, but gives piece of mind for use in my living room where spills from cats and grandkids are possible or if I wanted to take it to the kitchen. Two things to note, the HS8s are pretty good size, if you are planning to use them like room speakers then ok, but if you are doing near field work (ie they are on your desk and you are a few feet away) then you will be better with smaller speakers (you could just get the smaller HS5 for example). Secondly the Yamaha's really are designed for professional use and don't have the same degree or ease of connectivity as many other powered monitors.

Anker Soundcore Motion Boom for best bang for your buck. It's quite amazing the deep bass they get from this little speaker.

I actually have two of these subs paired with two HS80M studio monitors. One sub alone outputs decent bass, but I feel the sub is not on par in terms of quality with the HS80M studio monitors. Obviously the sub outputs more bass than the monitors, I am just talking about in terms of bang for the buck, I feel that the monitors are a league above the HS8 sub. I feel like Yamaha means for this sub to be paired with the HS80M/HS8 monitors, or they wouldn't share the moniker
