AmazonBasics Automatic Travel Umbrella with Wind Vent vs Lewis N. Clark Umbrella

I wanted a compact umbrella while carrying things from/to my house. At 38 inches, the canopy is sized and weighted for protection without being cumbersome. My headline says "semi-automatic" because the button does not fully reverse the opening action. Initially, the button will extend the shaft and expand the canopy

i love the one click to open and close feature but you do have to reset the springs if you click it closed but then need to open again. pushing it down once its clicked closed takes a little effort but not too bad. my only complaint like others have mentioned is the size of the handle. I wish it was longer so i can get a better grip

When I got it, I was pleasantly surprised at it's size. It was compact but wasn't too small. Now, with that being said, this is not a large umbrella. If it was raining hard, it wouldn't have protected me much

It is very compact when folded (so you can carry it in your backpack without problems) but not small at all when opened: it's the perfect size! It's also doesn't look cheap, seems to be made of premium materials. An all around good purchase. The automatic folding mechanism seems well made, if it ever breaks I will update the review accordingly.

Best Feature: May be silly, but my favorite thing about this umbrella so far is that the umbrella is easy to wrap up into a compact size and fits perfectly back in the sleeve after use. Con: In my opinion, the curved handle makes holding it more difficult than a normal handle. That's the only thing I prefer about my old Tote umbrella over this Amazon Basic Umbrella. Overall, good umbrella for the price

One for her, one for me. I was really impressed with the construction of this umbrella - seems to be quite heavy-duty, but quite compact. She's used hers once at a softball game and sang its praises. Get one

The only problem with this product is it weight. Most portable umbrellas are light but not this one. Good price, great color, keeps me dry. Wish it was lighter to carry

It's lightweight and does its job. Might be a little small if you're wearing a backpack. One slight issue is that the tassel that keeps the umbrella wrapped up when closed flops around below where the umbrella covers when walking so a little bit of water might hit you, but it's not too bad. Overall, worth the money

Since the closing isn't automatic and you have to anchor it manually, there has been times that I tried to just open the umbrella back to use again going back outside, but was unable to do so until I closed it completely and locked it down, then pushed the button to automatically snap it open again. It requires that snap of the button release to lock in the open position to be useful in the rain. It is a nice size for storing next to the drivers seat between the door and the seat.

I've had this for a little over a year, and it works well enough with rain and wind. My biggest complaint is that the velcro has basically stopped working to hold it closed. That's not a big deal except that I carry it in my bag, and the velcro often comes loose and lets the umbrella fabric spread out inside the bag. Better-quality velcro or another half-inch of it would have helped a lot

This doesn't stand too much in the way of holding it in normal rain. But, I haven't dealt with really windy conditions or holding it up for a long walk or something, so I can't write it off for sure. Overall, a good quality umbrella for the price.

I had to put a little effort in getting it back down. The spring is that strong, hopefully it holds up through use.

It has done a great job in small showers and rather large down pours. It has help up very well against strong winds and gusts as well. The only problem I have had was during an extended period in a downpour. Water began to get through the seams and drip after the umbrella was saturated but that has only occurred once
