The Kids’ Edition also is ad-free, which is a $20 value. I am not a fan of the case. It is also heavy, 115 grams, adding more than 50% to the already heavy device. The case protects the screen while traveling, and I will use it when traveling, but the edge is uncomfortable to hold, and at least so far, it doesn’t lay flat when folded

This is great for me as most of my e-books are in the Kindle format. I do find the Boox Note Air to be heavier than expected and I find it a bit more fatiguing to hold than my Kindle. However, the app is responsive and works very well for reading e-books I've purchased through the Amazon eco-system. I did purchase the cover as part of a bundle and frankly while I think it's functional, it is barely functional

Preference for a larger screen caused me to upgrade from my 6" Paperwhite to the Oasis 2 in 2016, but the battery life at about 6 hours is so disappointing that, when the new Paperwhite appeared with its screen enlarged from 6" to 6."8, 10 weeks vs 6 weeks of battery life in my old Paperwhite & my Oasis 2, twice the storage, many more LED front lights, a faster processor, & a warming feature to change the light from bluish to brownish, I took advantage of a sale on the Paperwhite for Kids, which included no ads (a $20 value), a cover ($20 value) & a 2-year warranty.
