It is my first pair of AE Park Avenue. I had to return the first one since it came with a bulge around the mouth. Disappointed, but not a big surprise since I heard a lot of quality control issue at AE lately from other reviewers. The second one came a few days later, and didn't have an issue with shoe quality

Shoe fit: too big

This shoe really hits a sweet spot in terms of price and quality, particularly when you can find it on sale. They look great, too. I work in a very casual environment and have always owned cheap dress shoes for the times when I do need to dress up, but now I'm finding excuses to wear my black Park Avenues regularly. They're comfortable enough to do so

 I'm normally a 10 D/E in dress shoes and a 10.5-11 in tennis shoes, but I wear an 8.5 3E in the Park Avenue. It took me three or four rounds of trying shoes on to find what fits

 A 9 3E would have worked, but I prefer a more snug fit initially knowing that the footbed will break in. If you have a wide foot and/or a high instep, sizing will probably be a challenge.

 The shoes are extremely comfortable and took no time at all to break in. The leather has a satin finish as opposed to being shiny, which probably due to the type of leather used (calf skin) and is probably why the shoes are so comfortable..  UPDATE: Whoops! Based on prior reviews, I ordered 1/2 size smaller than normal. That was a good choice. These shoes are REALLY stiff and are going to take a while to break in, but I think they'll get lots of wear once I get used to them.

 The pair I received has drying cracks in the leather. Since the shoe is new and has "waxy" look to the finish, this didn't seem right. I normally wear a 9 1/2 D dress shoe and a 10 in some styles. When trying the 9 1/2

 Even thicker insoles and/or thick socks didn't help very much. This one fits me well as a 9D.
