 They are very comfortable. Durability is an issue. This is my second set of ExOfficio (others were the original travel underwear, different style), as my experience traveling with them was grea, I wanted another pair, this time with a bit of leg. I really do use just 2 pairs, for 2+weeks

 Needless to say, the thigh and pouch regions are shredding. I haven't attempted a warranty repair on these yet, but will probably pursue that, since they are so expensive. Note, this was on both pairs, not just one, so it isn't a one time thing.

Quality in question.  Pilling/Shredding issues.

I'm looking to upgrade all of my under layers. What's the Darn Tough equivalent for boxers, boxer-briefs, and undershirts?

It’s worth noting that the Ex Officio Sport Mesh underwear is totally different. Much more support, much more, ahem, room for the twins, and a better fit if you have glutes. I hated the regular Ex Officio boxers, disliked Saxx, Tommy John had zero durability, lasted with Uniqlo for a while but they always rode up and didn’t have a lot of room… then I replaced everything with a whole bunch of Sport Mesh, and haven’t had a bad day since.

Okay, I know everyone swears by Eofficio boxer briefs, but I find them to be only slightly better than generic department store underwear at 10x the price. Compression shorts? Now we are going the the complete opposite direction of comfort. 

I want SEPARATION, where my testicles do not touch my legs and can hang free yet somewhat supported without being squished into my perineum.

I already have ALMOST the perfect underwear. They are La Pasas short inseam boxer-briefs, that have quite a bit of stretch, and basically provide comfortable separation, support, and breathability. The only issue is that they are modal, which is a fabric made from wood fiber, that has properties similar to cotton, though softer. The Current model had seams on the legs and is less stretchy, but it is still the second most comfortable underwear I own.

In warm weather, I hike in running shorts with a liner, so no underwear, but since it's cold now, I have been wearing pants. Now, I still just like in these, and if I get wet, I can always just take off my underwear if it's too cold, but this is not ideal, so I am looking for a similar fit in synthetic. 

So far I have not found much. There are plenty of synthetic "Pouch" or "Bulge" style underwear, mostly marketed to gay men, or maybe the kink community, but these are very hit and miss with comfort and sizing. I have tried many, mostly from China, and usually, the pouch area is too small or does not stretch enough, or the cut of the waist or legs is not comfortable for hiking, where they are good for showing off the shape of your body, but not great for active movement. 

I have tried Seperatec and Sheath, and neither is any good. 

Am I alone here? Do most other people like underwear that I find uncomfortable, or do people just not know any better, or have never tried more revealing(comfortable) designs? I feel like most designs either ignore the fact that men have external genitals or actively try to conceal them because of some ridiculous social norm. 

Help me.

Does actual comfortable underwear for men exist? I will use medically correct terms here, so get over it.

 No tearing or wearing out of the fabric yet, but not sure how that area will hold up in the long-term.

Quite comfortable set of briefs, and good for all intensive activities such as working out, hiking, walking, running, biking, and so forth. I've tried Reebok's performance briefs, Adidas' Climalite and Climacool, Champion's Tech Performance Briefs, and I think these felt like the highest quality from the start, and were the most comfortable. The fit as a little looser than the others, and the material a little lighter-weight, but it is quite comfortable. However, of all the briefs, these are the only ones where the material is beginning to pill a little, after about two years of at least weekly use

They aren't unusable or anything, but seeing as these were the most expensive of the bunch, I'd expect a little longer lifespan before this occurred.  Anyway, if you live a more easy-going life, they'd probably last a while, and being as comfortable as they are, probably worth the price

 I ordered the black with red ones (Black) and he loves them - we had bought the black / orange (Curfew) from our local store. Just as a side note I also purchased the grey (Phantom) ones from this same vendor - they came in just a sealed bag with tags on them instead of the box like the black/red ones came in..

 I guess I will get the all red ones for him next and find out. One other note is that he used to by XL in other brands, but we buy the Large in these and he likes the fit.

 The tag said 9" boxer as well, and they appeared the same when I held them up to each other so we kept them but he said they are a bit different in the fit / feel. I am noticing now that the description is different for the Phantom and Petrol colors than for the other 3 colors and those both say "Treated with an antimicrobial to eliminate odor-causing bacteria in fabric (Pe Bag)", so I don't know if that means they are somewhat different even though they are the same length and material.  I am under the assumption that these folks lack the proper knowledge of how to take care of clothing. These boxers are made mostly of synthetic elastic material which are a no go for the dryer and washer. If you hand wash these boxers and hang them to dry, they don't age at all. If you wash them and don't use the dryer, expect a shorter lifespan

This is the perfect boxer brief. They don't deserve the hate they are getting.

 I wish there was more room for my junk, it just feels cramped and it detracts from me paying attention to my surroundings. Can’t sit still if my twig n berries feel like they’re being clamped in the world’s softest vice.  I think, if you like this kind of underpant, you’ll love them. I have been shopping around to find a new go to under wear for months. I have purchased several different jockey styles, champion, under armor and so on. I was buying the Jockey GO Stretch Mid Way Boxer Briefs with the orange waistband for years but they discontinued them for what was trendy and low rise. Well, I am a big guy and the low rise doesn't get it for me

 I would have ordered more than two but the only downfall to these is that they are pricey.
