My Significant Opponent and I played **7 Wonders Duel** a few times. We just didn't like it as much as Regular **7 Wonders** with the two-player dummy-hand variant. We haven't played **Puerto Rico** in years because it doesn't work with two players and whenever we are playing with more people there are other games we'd like to play more… and looking back on it with a critical eye towards the theme, I'm not really comfortable pulling it out at all anymore.

Here's one: what are the #1 and #2 highest ranked games on Board Game Geek that you used to love but no longer play? Either because you've become board with them, feel like you've solved the puzzle, or are just taking a break from them, which excellent games sit on your shelf but are currently destined to just stay there?

For me, #1 is **Azul** (#55). I love it, but I never pull it down any more because for the most part, I feel like I've solved it. I still enjoy it, it's still highly-ranked on my personal list, but I don't often pull it down any more unless I want to show it to people who haven't played it.

My #2 is **Pandemic** (#105). I've played this game to death and it's still a great co-op game but to me it's been surpassed by so many other great co-op games. But I can't bring myself to send it on to its next owner because I feel like every board game collection should have a copy...

Highest rank games on BGG that you no longer play?

 I guess each age of the game and i also really like the combination between you, trying to figure out what you're building for your civilization while at the same time putting stumbling blocks and obstacles in front of your opponent throwing away cards. They need making it hard to get for them to get the things they need. So it's kind of like you, have your own strategy, but you're also needing to look at your opponent and what they're trying to do - and i think that adds another layer to this game that i personally find pretty fun. Another really important aspect of this game is that there are seven wonders that can be built, but each players dealt four different wonders, which means one is kind of gon na get screwed over and that's just a part of the game, so i've i've always thought that Was very fun now the biggest con we have for this game is basically we mentioned that there's three different ways to win, but they're, not all as equally likely

 That'S just a plus for any game, especially when you are busy at times. The game is also really replayable, because there's a lot of randomness to where different items are placed in each stage of the game. I guess each age of the game and i also really like the combination between you, trying to figure out what you're building for your civilization while at the same time putting stumbling blocks and obstacles in front of your opponent throwing away cards.  So i do like that nuance thing where you have to look out for your opponent, but it's also a little bit annoying that it's not really that viable to win in the other two ways. Yeah so overall i'd say it's relatively simple: the entire game um, the military aspect i, which i wish it was a little bit more juicy than it is, but you know it's just basically moving a little tracker and maybe sometimes you'll make them lose coins. You can kind of track what your opponent wants to do. So those are our main thoughts for seven wonders duel

7 Wonders Duel Review and Summary

Also, **7 Wonders Duel** has a lot of game for a mini box, though part of that is because it uses cards that are in my opinion, too small. I don’t own it yet - it’s at the top of my list - but the *the red cathedral** is also another small.

 Big games in little packages. Or at least bigger than what the box size would lead you to believe.  
 

A few caveats:  
 No legacy games have been included (cause you can throw them out when you are done)  
 No expansion content is included. Base game's are the only ones that count.  
 No dexterity games are included.  
 No abstract games have been included because most of the good ones (hive, chess, etc) hit above their box size.  
 These are also the games that I have had the chance to play. So games like Glory to Rome that I imagine would make this list will be absent.

For a game that comes in a smaller than ticket to ride size box, I was not expecting the crunchy brain burn I experienced while playing this game. For a game that might give a few Lacerdas a run for their money, this game takes up a surprisingly small amount of space (when packed into the box). I particularly also enjoy the 2 player game where players control a dummy player to handicap their opponent. This game is a hidden gem for me and I really think it didn't get the buzz it deserved.

10 Games That Hit Above Their Box Size (And Some Games that Don't)

Hi welcome to watch it played. My name is Rodney Smith. In this video we're going to learn the two-player game, seven wonders duel designed by Antoine Bosa, Bruno Cthulhu and published by repo Productions and Asthma day. You may be familiar with the best-selling seven wonders which allows you to build a civilization from cards, and, although this shares some similarities, it is not an expansion

 As well as those on wonders that you've built and on any progress tokens you've collected and for each set of three coins, you gain one point. So we have five coins here, which means the player would get one extra point for those the player. With the most points, wins in the case of a tie, the player with the most points from blue buildings wins and if there's still a tie, both players win and that's how you play seven wonders duel. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to put them in the comments below and I'll gladly answer them as soon as I get a chance, but until the next episode, thanks for watching you 

 Here we take the age to deck and deal it out exactly as shown here on the rule book, so we've built a pyramid again, but this time it's upside down the player, who has the conflict pawn closest to their side of the board at this time? Has the weakest military and will choose which player begins the new age? If the pawn is in the center, then the player who played a card last in the previous age will first otherwise. The second age follows the same rules as the first and will end as soon as all of those cards have been used. Scrawl receives unanimous praise among our testers for its hilarity. The overwhelming laughter comes not from the game itself but from the creativity of the players. It doesn't rely on cards with crude or gasp-worthy phrases. Instead, Scrawl gives a prompt and allows the imagination of the players to fill in the rest in the form of phrases and illustrations. This freedom makes it more replayable. Due to the speed of play, the cards are also not used up as quickly as in other prompt-and-response games, which helps preserve the game's freshness. A time limit for drawing and writing adds a fun amount of pressure. And because everyone "plays" simultaneously, there's no waiting around. At the end of a round, when the sequence of drawings and writings are revealed for all to see, we dare you to keep a straight face. Or, don't &mdash; let yourself laugh so hard it becomes a core workout.
There are a few small caveats worth mentioning. First, this game is pricey and comes with poor quality dry-erase markers, so we'd recommend picking up an inexpensive pack of dry-erase markers separately. And while the prompt cards are PG &#40;a few teeter on PG-13&#41;, we've seen a strong tendency for gameplay to get rather spicy. Maybe it's just us? However, with some self-censorship and removal of a few of the more suggestive card prompts from play, it could be appropriate for kids too. Note that while you do NOT need to be a good drawer to have fun in this game &#40;poor drawings are often the winners, actually&#41;, convincing everyone to draw can be tricky. Scrawl might feel out-there but trust us &mdash; no game has ever made us laugh so hard.

 You pull a card and get to pick which of the four you want to draw, then pass it on to the next person to write what they see. Some of the cards are, yes, quite raunchy. For example, two of the cards that we received were "cat orgy" and "edible panties." But there are other cards like "worm goes to heaven" that would be easy to draw
