Zpacks Hexamid Pocket Tarp

Lots of big pockets including a wide & deep one across the bottom of the back. Cherry picked warm weather and no rain possibility in the forecast for two nights (though I did have a slim envelope with a single-use thin plastic rain poncho that I could probably have rigged as some kind of shelter). It was OK, no sense of deprivation; but I've never really felt any motivation to repeat the experiment. Nowadays I'd manage to get something like a zpacks pocket tarp in there.

I hiked the CT last year with a ZPacks Hexamid along with a couple who had a Tarptent Notch 2 (I think - whatever it was it's since been discontinued). Sometimes we had trouble fitting both tents into a single stealth spot but in general it wasn't bad.

May pair with Zpacks Hexamid Pocket Tarp, but open to hearing other tarp options. I would like my shelter to stay under 18oz.

Lots depends on if I could fit the Bug Bivy 2 inside the Pocket Tarp or if the pocket tarp provides a surprising amount of weather resistance by itself. - **Budget:** No budget constraints, but I'd prefer to use what I have before I get new inserts. - **Location/s of use:** I mostly backpack Arizona, where I may use the tarp without an insert a lot, but have trips planned for Alaska and the Grand Tetons later this year.

Loving it so far, although I haven't had any rain yet (and that's the real test!) Sometimes I have trouble getting the beak and storm doors as taut as I would like (seems like the stake needs to be further out than I have string for), but I think that's just a matter of getting better at pitching it...
