The only drawbacks are: 1) the straw inside is made of plastic rather than metal. I am pretty sure this will need replacement fairly regularly to maintain a good-tasting cup o' joe; and 2) the pump on the top seems not built to last (we're pretty hard on our appliances). This will serve the purpose, but I'm pretty sure it's not going to last 14 years like the last one. Maybe that is the point

This is a decent replacement and seems pretty functional. The only drawbacks are

 Conversely, if you plan on taking it to work or on a picnic, or needing to clean it on a regular basis, then get a screw top, durable "thermos" instead.

Fragile, Difficult to Clean, Leaks

We're using my Zojiurshi AASB-22SB Primer Air Pot 74 Ounce Beverage Dispenser in a home environment. The Air Pot is just as fine a product as it advertised. We're particularly impressed with the thermos capability - beverages are kept at hot or cold temperatures for at least 24 hours. My only fuss is removing the top for cleaning
