 This helps with loading on taller SUVs. Next place the washer on top and loosely attach the lever knob. The rear part of the Evo only has one mounting position. Now place the ski carrier on top of your bars and wrap the strap underneath the bar and place the buckle into the clamp

 Begin installation of the universal mounts by unscrewing the lever knob from the top of the mounting hardware. Toward the outer portion of the Evo 6 there are two mounting positions so you can bring the carrier further out on the side of your vehicle. This helps with loading on taller SUVs. Next place the washer on top and loosely attach the lever knob

 Place the covers back on with the arrow oriented toward the front of the car. Mount the carrier on top, place the washer on top and screw down the lever knob completely. The Fat Cat series features a large button for easy opening with your gloves on. To lock it simply insert your key and turn it 90 degrees clockwise

 Adjust the gray knob to the point where closing the buckle will be met with firm resistance. Repeat the same steps for the rear mount. You may need to pull the carrier a little out of the way to avoid hitting the lift kit when buckling into place. The Evo has several degrees of tilting to compensate for angled crossbars

 So that opens all the way up so you'll be able to get those. Okay so a really interesting feature about the 2016 Outback is the fact that it comes with cross rails already installed so they're hidden in with this big plastic shield here and this feature's really neat so on this side here, no it must be this side, there's a little plug here that you unclip and out comes your cross rail. So it's the same on the other side so if we just twist that around there without scratching the roof, I'll go around and I'll do the other side and I'll show you how they clip in. Here we go so we're just going to do the same on the other side here

 No. Got a couple of edges there that are raised so. So when you push your button there it just hopefully, there you go. So that's what they look like when they're open and then you put your boards and stuff through there, close it up, away you go

 So you want to make sure it's undone a little bit, a bit looser and that releases that silver button, bring your clip round. And so I've installed quite a few pairs of roof racks and stuff and accessories and they're really fiddly, there's nothing that can stop these being so fiddly. And then once you're in place you can then tighten it all up. And there we are and that's the Yakima Evo 6 Fat Cat instalment

 What's the weight of this? Not too heavy. It feels relatively well built though doesn't it? Yeah it's pretty solid, that's like plastic and in the middle there's this sort of rubber groove in here and that's hopefully to protect your ski and boards. We'll unbox the second one, get these out. And on the end here you can see that there's an oversized button there with a little key lock there so you can easily open it with your ski gloves and stuff on and then unlock it and off you go to the mountains

 I could only get it to engage up to a few clicks on the serrated tab.  For now the brand new rack is holding our skis securely. Fits easily to the car's roof rails. Just concerned about its durability
