It's a little bit harder material but that's going to mean that the grooves on this wedge which go all the way from the leading edge all the way to the top are going to maintain their sharpness, their durability of the sharpness for a longer period of time. Now with this very wide sole, you're going to get a lot of effective bounce which means that when you open up the face, you're going to be getting a lot of bounce here so the club is going to avoid digging and you're going to get a much larger hitting area here

As with previously released Staff Model blade irons and Staff Model utility irons, Wilson’s new Staff Model wedges were designed with input and feedback from the company’s tour players, including 2019 U.S. Open champion Gary Woodland.  Wilson has a new pair of wedges out for 2020. The Wilson Staff Model and the Staff Model HT.

 Here's what you're going to want to know about each club. As the name suggests,

 the Wilson Staff Model wedge was designed with a lot of feedback and input from Wilson's staff

 players. That includes 2019 U.S. Open Champion Kerry Woodland as well as Brendan Steele and

 Padraig Harrington. The club is forged from 8620 carbon steel so it's going to have a really soft

 feel and impact. And if you take a look at the grooves, they're packed a little bit more tightly

 together than typically you're going to find in wedges. The reason for that according to Wilson

 is that on slower hitting shots, the soft and delicate pitch shots and chip shots you're going

 to hit around the green, it's going to actually put more groove edges against the ball and that's

 Tour players and recreational players as a really good club out of bunkers and out of thick rough.

 When you open it up and try and add loft, you still have a lot of extra hitting area. So if

 you're a golfer who's going to be in the market in 2020 for some new wedges, you want to talk to a

 good custom fitter in your area and see about how fitting some Wilson Staff Model or Staff Model

 That's where it's most effective. So one of the big advantages is the fact you can just open up that clubface, really utilise the bounce and the toe of the golf club. Obviously it's high in that area for a reason. So I've chosen a relatively tricky shot

 Certainly the 60 degree isn't blowing my mind. The 56 again, maybe slightly inconsistent as far as how that tragedy is working, but at the bunker, it felt good. It felt easy. There was no concentration there

 It's a high toe tailor-made. No, it's not. It's a Wilson Staff model HT, model high toe and we're

 going to be looking at this wedge today to see if it can perform anywhere near what it's basically

 copied. But we're also going to be having a look at what manufacturers do with clubs because whenever

 someone brings something new, original or something slightly different out which catches the popular

 attention, and more importantly which people buy, you'll start to see companies make their own

 versions. Now some would say that's copying, some would say that that is understanding what the

 market wants. But get down into those comments below, let us know when you think a golf company

 has taken another company's idea and ran with it with lots of wedge testing. But that was a good

 shot first. 100 yards, let's see what the sand wedge in this high toe is like. Now I should point

 out where I actually stand on this, I don't care. As long as there's no copyright infringements,

 I see no issue with a company taking a good idea and trying to make it their own. Bear in mind,

 the things that you take for granted in your golf clubs at the moment, let's say movable weight

 technology in a driver. All the companies didn't spontaneously come up with that idea together.

 Things like the high toe wedge, this was Callaway and it's now been adapted to TaylorMade and now

 Wilson. So remember, there's always an original, there's always a starting point, then other

 companies take it and make it their own. This is the 60 degree. It does just pop up into the air
