  The cons: if you’re looking for a soft and absorbent towel, this is not it. They are so thin, they quickly absorb what little water they can and then you’re basically just rubbing a wet paper towel on your body. They do not dry my children after they get out of the pool. The towels are not hard, but I wouldn’t say they are overly soft

 Wetcats towels did not have tassel issues or any exposed thread due to it not having edges that are folded and sewn down; unlike the Smyrna which I had to retwist the tassels on one side because they were a knotted mess and not the same length. At this moment I prefer the Wetcat over the Smyrna due to no imperfections on Wetcats product.

 Smyrna has very limited color choices, they are more pastel and muted, verses Wetcat with 30+ color options. The Smyrna catches more sand than the Wetcat due to it having a rougher texture. Wetcats towels did not have tassel issues or any exposed thread due to it not having edges that are folded and sewn down; unlike the Smyrna which I had to retwist the tassels on one side because they were a knotted mess and not the same length.  The Smyrna is slightly thicker and feels very sturdy, Wetcat is softer, lighter and more delicate to the touch. Both seem as though they will not tear or rip. Smyrna is slighty more absorbent than the Wetcat. I feel this area can be subjective

 These towels provide zero warmth! I miss the way a normal fluffy towel traps body heat in. I find the tassels on each end very aggravating as they catch in my hair, my glasses or on any corner or sharp edge of the bathroom cabinet.
