 Alright so let's look at this grill. In your first impressions it has the same quality that you will find in any of the Weber Kettle line. Looking at the Jumbo Joe you can see that it has a nice compact design beginning with the tuck and carry lid lock along the top. This helps with transport and keeps the lid locked on top or when in use becomes a lid holder to help free up both of your hands when cooking

Also on the top you have your handle with the heat shield to help reduce the heat that reaches the handle so you don't have to worry about that getting very hot. Moving along the lid and bowl are made with a baked on porcelain enamel steel which means that it will never peel or flake which adds to that quality that is known for Weber products so you know it's going to last a long time

Alright so I just picked up this Weber Jumbo Joe off of Amazon because I needed a second grill, something that was a little bit smaller, something that could be more portable, I could take camping, something I could just use at home for some smaller cooks and originally I was leaning towards the Smokey Joe line which is even smaller than this one, partly because I had it, I was familiar with it. And then I was watching a video from my buddy Justin over at Baby Back Maniac and he was saying that this was one of his favorite small portable grills that he loves and so I took a look at it and this is why I got this one over the Smokey Joe line and I agree with him, I think this is going to be an incredible grill

 This is the charcoal basket from Adrenaline BBQ. This basket here is made for 18 inch kettles and Weber jumbo joes. This is different than their slow and sear basket which is for the 22 inch kettle and has a channel there that you can use as a water pan. This right here is just a little baffle here to insulate the food from the heat

 I noticed on the Smokey Joe’s lid that the paint is peeling off and I am assuming because of the heat. Did not notice it until I saw black flacks on my grilled chicken. Hoping that it is non-toxic paint. However if it was manufactured in a different country, then safety is a gamble

 Hey guys, it's Steve back with another Barbeque Bros video. Today we're going to take a look at the new Weber Jumbo Joe little charcoal kettle. This is a new 2013 model I just got off of Amazon.com

 I put in about 15 pieces of charcoal into a small Weber chimney and lit up a wax cube to get the thing going. The charcoal I'm using for this video is this Embers charcoal briquettes which is just what was on sale at Home Depot. I have a suspicion it's actually Royal Oak briquettes under a different name because they look similar. They have those speed holes in them

 No need for this rib rack anymore. I'm wrapping both rib halves in the same packet and adding a little bit of apple juice in there as a braising liquid making sure it's tightly wrapped with little air in there. Place the packet in the jumbo joe and put the lid back on. I open the vents slightly more to get the temp up to 350 degrees fahrenheit so I can get these ribs tender faster

 Now you might think 40 bucks for a charcoal basket I have a mortgage to pay. I'm not going to pay for that and you know I think it's a great tool but maybe you're short on cash. You don't want to spend 40 bucks on top of the jumbo joe's price tag. Some people have great success smoking by using a brick

 The control was really good. I felt like I could raise and lower the temps with little fussing of the vents. Just adjust the vents a little bit and the jumbo joe does what I command. It's more obedient than the clay golem I created to complete my despicable tasks
