 You can find a finesse hook that matches the bait you're going to fish, right? So there's our finesse set up. Now, because this is a finesse hook, I'm going to use more finesse style plastics. Thin worms, scoby style baits, little tiny thin plastics, right? Finesse style plastics. I'm going to show you two of my favorites real quick

 We moved to traditional more sparse cover open water fishing, normal sized plastics, right? Straight tail worms, ribbon tail worms, a lighter weight, another great system to fish to Tokyo. And then in the last installment we talked about fishing a Tokyo rig deep with swim baits for fish that have never seen this style movement on the bait. What a great way to fish a Tokyo rig. But in this last edition we're going to talk about fishing a Tokyo rig finesse style, finesse style

 It's a thinner style bait with a flat bottom. And this happens to be, this is a number one VMC Neko hook on this Tokyo rig. And the great thing about this finesse Neko hook is you can rig it with smaller plastics multiple ways. So a lot of times when I'm fishing that water bug around sparse cover, I'll Texas rig it, right? Look at this

 I go an eighth of an inch into the water bug, pop it out of the head, flat side down. I bring it around past that little fluorocarbon keeper on that finesse Neko and I'll Texas rig that water bug, right? So look at it. Now I've got a small little plastic Texas rigged. I'm going to show you the weight in a second and I can put a lighter weight on this with lighter line and finesse this Tokyo rig, just like I did with those power methods

Finesse Tokyo Rig!(Part 4) - YouTube

 You know, rod and reel and line, basically I'd fish this bait on your traditional pitching flipping worm rod that you would normally fish. I prefer a seven foot to a seven and a half foot medium heavy rod. My favorite rod is seven two, it's medium heavy. And on the reel, same thing, the normal reel you'd use to fish a worm or a flip or a pitch bait, low profile reel, something with a quicker gear ratio, seven to one or higher is perfect

 But the best way I can describe it is think about an Alabama rig. You know, an Alabama rig has a ton of components, but they get mesmerized by the action of the bait. Same thing here. You know, this bait is going to have such fluid movement, the hardware doesn't impede the action, doesn't impede the number of bites you're going to get, even in really clear water

 It's going to present that thing in a different way. The fish haven't seen it, you're going to get more hookup ratios, you're going to get more action out of the bait. You know, if you're looking for something that's new, if you want to stay ahead of the curve, if you want a cutting edge technique, try this punch shotting technique, grab one of the new VMC Tokyo rigs, modify it however you want. I guarantee you're going to present a bait to the fish in a different way and you're going to catch more bass

 I'm going to put a little J bend in that wire and that's basically going to keep those weights from sliding off. So I just close the wire and now when I turn this around you're going to start to get this rig. Now we've got the weights below the hook on a wire. I've got two quarter ounce weights so I'm going to get easy penetration

 But for me personally, I really like this slider weight. Okay. This right here is like tungsten slider weight. It sort of goes through everything, rock, grass, wood, does a really good job

 Now the cool thing about this, and this is why I think it's such a good small mouth bait, is this way is kicking up a lot of dirt and silt. And then when those small mouths see that and then you have, it's almost like a drop shot if you will. But then you have this little, whatever bait you're going to put on this, sort of staying up, elevated above the bottom. So it's out of all that dust and all that stuff

 And then you have this weight hitting the bottom, that little wacky style man. It can absolutely crush them. You can throw other like four inch little wacky worms and upsize it. But I like that especially for them small mouth when I can pitch it in front of them

 That weight is sitting there and it really just jiggles with everything else. So the next way to rig this, and this is the way I rig it a lot of times, especially if they're on a bed or anything else, I'm just going to Texas rig this. Well, not really, I'm just going to thread it on. So you could Texas rig this if you're in weeds or anything like that
