Vibram Lug

I decided this time I wanted to put a Vibram mini-lug to help with traction and to keep the wet Vancouver weather out. I explained the ridge issue and though they couldn't feel or see anything, assured me it would be addressed. When the boots came back, I was thrilled with the profile of the mini lug (though the stitching is a bit sloppy).

Works great! Fit my size 11 wide shoes with room to spare. Works great! Merrells cost $$$ but I wear them out walking. So I thought I'd give this a try! Some shoe-goo and barge cement, and I'm back in business! Maybe not the most beautiful repair job, but who is looking? Well worth it!

I 100% agree that, while the soles aren't as long lasting as Dainite, they beat them in just about every other category. Once it's time to resole my Thursday's, I'll be going with a Vibram mini-lug or something along those lines. Will also be adding a leather midsole to give it some extra comfort.

I now have a pair with Vibram Commando lugs and while they're good for traction, they're complete overkill for anything I use them for and negatively impact the settings I can wear the boots in. The mini lugs had stitching around the perimeter, but the Commandos appear to just be glued onto the midsole.
