Valhalla Vintage Verb

Really good bread-and-butter reverbs and delays. Not too expensive. Highly regarded. Valhalla Vintage Verb and Valhalla Delay are probably the best "bang-for-your-buck" options since they all have multiple operation modes.

Since you seem to be focusing on doing an 80s thing, I'd also recommend Goodhertz Megaverb or Valhalla Vintage Verb for reverb, and maybe Soundtoys PrimalTap for vintage digital delay. Then look into an SSL-style bus compressor to complete the SSL console thing. Don't get the Waves version, there's definitely better ones.

I use Valhalla Vintage Verb and Soundtoys Echo Boy, both such great plugins and really worth the money.

Stock EQ and Comp, TSAR-1 reverb by Softube (or Valhalla Vintage Verb, whatever floats your boat), MT Power Drumkit, Amped Roots and TDR Nova. I use others, too, but you asked for 5.

Valhalla Vintage Verb legitimately killed my urge to look for other reverbs. I put off buying it for so long, but once I did, it instantly became my go-to and I almost never reach for anything else.

It lives up to all the praise it gets.

Vallhalla Vintage Verb is really affordable and insane quality for the price. They have a lot of different algorithms in that one reverb, and a few of them are basically just "make it sound big."
