Jetstream 3 Color Slim Compact Pen Review: Best Cheap 3 Color Pen

 So, in this video I wanted to take a quick look at a very cool new pen from Mitsubishi

 Uni and that is the Jetstream 3 Color Slim Compact.

 The name is a bit of a mouthful but it's a very cool pen, it came out just last month,

 I think January 19th, 2019 and this is it.

 So it's a three color multi pen in the Jetstream line, it's a Japanese pen just like all the

 Mitsubishi Uni stuff, made in Japan as you can see right here and what it is is a new

 version of the Jetstream 3 and this is a pen that's easy to find here in the US, sells

 for about $4-$5 which is an excellent deal, uses Jetstream ink, retail price of 400 yen

 and it's filled with the SXR80 which is their standard refills.

 I have this one with the.38mm refills and I really like it, it's one of my top, if not

 This pen here, the Jetstream 3 Compact, or Slim whatever you want to call it, is the

 new version, I don't think it's an upgrade, I don't think it's replacing this one, I think

 it's just sort of like another version of it, moves the price up to 600 yen but uses

 the same refills and it's got obviously a new design.

 It has this blue barrel with this crosshatch pattern and that's just printed on, you can't

 Slimmer profile, Knox, they're like kind of squared off as opposed to rounded and also

 one of the Knox is now built into the clip whereas the clip was non-functional and had

 three, here you can see red, blue and then black is built into the clip.

 Now we also have a grip that matches the body in this cool sort of tire pattern before it

 was all black and the pen itself, I guess this is the biggest change, the pen itself

 Same refills as before and then obviously a slightly higher price tag.

 The pen is sold, this model, the Slim in 0.38 and 0.5 mm sizes, if you go with the 0.38

 you can buy the barrel in, I'm checking Mitsubishi's site right now, in mint green, lavender or

 If you go with the 0.5 you can have it in white, black, navy which is what I purchased

 or Bordeaux and I purchased this one from eBay so it shipped to me direct from Japan.

 Opening it up, you can see it's all plastic body except for the clip.

 Good feel to it, it's a very solid feeling pen.

 And then we can just see those three standard SXR 80 refills and these are very good, they're

 not the premium or the premier but they really do the job quite nicely, some of my favorite

 multi pen refills in either the 0.5 or 0.38.

 It's definitely a comfortable pen, it's a really nice length, I like the new grip.

 It's not too much to say, I think really Jetstream nailed it, Jetstream's been really making

 great pens whether in their normal line or the premier line, or the prime line rather

 and I think this is a really nice addition, especially if your number one hesitation to

 buying or using multi pens is you don't like the thickness, that's one of the things that

 drew me to this one is it's on the thin side for a three pen, three color.

 This one's even slimmer, it's basically getting to be the thickness of a normal pen, kind

 If you compare it to something like this, this is the Acro Ball 4, I think it is a 4.

 Even though this tapers a little bit at the grip, it's still a lot, lot thicker than this

 slim so that's a really nice quality to me and I really have enjoyed writing with it

 Comparing it to my favorite multi pen of all time, the Hi-Tec Seat Kaleido and this is

 only two, Kaleido is still thinner, but it is on the thin side.

 It's kind of a, I would say like a normal pen, it's like the thinnest multi pen possible,

 As far as between these two, I actually prefer the slim, I liked this pen for a long time,

 the Jetstream 3, but now the three slim, I keep getting the name wrong, the Jetstream

 3 color slim compact, you really don't have to call it slim and compact, we get the point,

 Quick writing sample, this is the Jetstream 3 color slim compact, I've done a lot of video

 reviews with the SXR 80 refills and with the Jetstream ink in particular, so I think you've

 probably seen it multiple times, but just a really nice, really smooth, super dependable

 hybrid ink, just if you haven't used the Jetstream as much or haven't used them lately, definitely

 Looking at it, that 0.5 versus that 0.38, now we have the, and this is, sorry, this

 Multiple difference between the 0.38 and that 0.5 millimeter.

 To change the refill, you would just pull this off, grab one of these guys, give it

 a pull, you could see SXR 80, oh look, it is 0.5, that is funny, so this one was mislabeled.

 The pin runs about eight to twelve dollars depending on where you get it and I'll include links in the description for Amazon and also JetPens. If you're interested in one make sure you check like both places because you don't want to pay extra if you can avoid it and so as pins go this one isn't too bad I mean it's like like size-wise it's not bad it is it is very much a plastic pin though it's pretty light and so this one we get red and blue and also a pencil refill and I think they're all 0.5 millimeter it looks like from the the sticker these are like 600 yen so anyway okay hold on a minute I was totally incorrect actually this is just a straight multi-pin there's no pencil I was thinking it was a pen a pencil and we got blue and red and then the pencil but it's actually we get black uni jet stream slim all right I have a personal pet peeve I do not like multi pins that do this with the clip uni dent stream it writes okay I mean it's not bad uni jet stream it's okay and so I guess it takes the usual uni refills I don't know it's like it's it's not okay this is one of those things like if you're looking for a relatively inexpensive multi pin and you want some variety so it really isn't I mean it's not a bad pin except for the hole using the clip as one of the ways to extend a refill I think I'm getting pickier the more multi pins that I look at cuz this one isn't I mean it's not it's not a bad multi pin but I think I'm looking for that multi pin to allow me if that makes sense and this is one of those things like this is a completely adequate multi pin and for the price and like maybe I think you can find it like eight bucks so for eight bucks it's kind of an interesting little pin and I think they come to watch the different colors chickens you can check one of the links and it should have I think it has multiple colors you can get these in if you want some variety so I don't know it's just tough to say with some of these I tell you what if any of y'all have tried this pin let me know in the comments what you think and also if there any multi pins that like wow do you that you think I should take a look at also please let me know in the comments cuz I'm always on that quest for like the perfect multi pin that makes me super happy anyway if y'all have enjoyed this video please like and subscribe and I hope you have an excellent day
