Probably work on your feet muscle strength, precisely by running with lower cushion shoes and gradually up the distance. It will take a month or two but it is totally worth it.

Agree with the other comments, if you can't run in the Endo Speed for more than 5 miles, the problem is not in the shoes.

I use the rebel v2s and the endorphin speeds and they are great until 5 miles into my run, I would like to find some cushioned shoes for longer runs. I bought the invincible's but they feel bulky and they are not for me. Looking into the novablasts 2 but not sure.

Are shoes like the Nike Zoom Fly 3, Asics Magic Speed and Saucony Endorphin Speed suitable and durable options for everyday training? I feel these shoes are not purely racing shoes...so maybe they can be more durable for everyday training?

Hi all,  


So running my second marathon in April after a long time not running (2+ years). Slowly getting back into but really not overly happy with my choice of running shoe. I purchased a pair of Endorphin Shift 2's after trying them in the shop as you do.   


First few runs went fine and felt good, but I just really dont feel like they're helping at all on any run over say 4 or 5 miles. I'm not exactly breaking speed limits here, running 8ish minute miles and would like a 4 hour marathon time.  


I'm going to be in the market for something that can help me with my daily training. Only really have the budget for a single pair of shoes up until the April marathon so will keep these shifts as a back up pair. Options that google keeps throwing at me are,   


**Endorphin Speed 2's -** These are abviously great but the amount of times I see 'great for speed work'. What exactly is speed work? I'm no pro runner and if I'm working up to my longer runs training for an April marathon average 8 minute miles would these still be okay for me? Obviously I'd like to introduce some shorter, quicker runs as training progresses.

**Hoka Mach 4 -** Have seen this are quite a plush pair of daily runners, that could see me through to my marathon in April. Maybe not quite as quick as Speed 2's but do I need it? I'm 6ft 5 and about 88kg so this may be a factor.

Or something an old favourite among runners like the **Gel Nimbus 23** or **Brooks Glycerine 19.** I think both of these would undeniably feel super comfortable but will they help my reach my goals, I'm not sure.
