We love the sensation of the TriggerPoint Foam MB1 beneath our tightest muscles. The EVA foam is gentle enough to make self-massage enjoyable but firm enough to still pack a punch. The soft yet strong foam lends itself perfectly to a variety of body parts. Because this ball is less rigid than others in our review, we found it more versatile and accommodating to different preferences. No matter which body part you are attempting to loosen, this ball is up for the job.  
As anticipated, the Trigger Point Foam is less durable than much of the competition. As is the case with items made of foam, this ball is not impervious to blemishes and gashes. Despite our rigorous testing, however, this ball endured, holding its shape well. The lack of durability will most likely show itself if a dog gets ahold of this one; the foam would not hold up to canine mastication. The Trigger Point Foam is also less easy to clean when compared to our other options. The foam can be wiped, but we do not recommend submerging this sphere into water or even getting it too wet. Overall, this massager is a great choice for anyone looking for a versatile, ergonomically solid, and gentler massage ball.

Possibly Dangerous Packaging

  So TriggerPoint, if you're listening, please produce a new ball that is *fully glued* to the core and uses just a single density of foam!

First of all, this is simply the best massage ball there is for shoulder/back/glutes massage. I've literally tried them all. Tennis balls are too soft for most uses, while lacrosse balls usually harder than desired. The hardness and size of this ball is *just right*

Best there is, but still has major flaws

 The ball is very firm, which may cause discomfort if you are new to this practice or sensitive to the greater pressure that comes from a firm ball. If you are new to Fascia release and deep tissue massage, I'd recommend starting with an inflated ball (7" mini basketball or youth soccer balls are good options). These options allow you to alter the pretty by inflating or deflating the ball and are possibly something you already have at home.  My favorited activity with this is for releasing my Psoas and rolling with the ball against a wall to release the back of my shoulders and chest

Firm and Small, Great for Psoas Release. Too firm for beginners.

 You can use these on whatever part of your back is bothering you. While not taking the place of a good deep tissue massage it is very convenient and still works out some kinks.  One suggestion I'd make is to buy more than one, start out with two. If you, or your intended target, likes them you'll want a back up since they don't last forever

Works well for working out sore spots

 Light in weight but somehow this works better than the balls i rolled out with against the wall on my upper back, lower back, hips and butt. This is basically tennis ball size so, I also need a larger one to do the shoulders from the front. Well worth the money. (Get a larger size as well to do different areas!)

I bought this ball after I used a similar massage ball a friend of mine had. This one’s a bit harder than hers, though I’m not sure if it’s good or bad. The ball does what it claims to do so I don’t have any complaint. I didn’t give five stars because it met my expectations but didn’t exceed them

My son is a high rise window washer and does Brazilian jiu jitsu, so he is always hunched over whether it’s from his harness pulling his shoulders down for 8+ hours a day or grappling at the gym. Needless to say, for a 26 year old, his posture is terrible due to it, and he’s always in pain whether it’s his back or shoulders. Heating pads never work, nsaid’s are a waste of pills that do nothing so why bother taking medication that don’t work? He gets this in the mail and starts rolling around the problem areas and while it looked like he was in pain, it’s massaging deep in the tissue. Unlike a foam roller, its able to target specific areas and he can pin point the problem areas to massage and get to hard to reach areas that regular foam rollers just can’t get to like upper biceps and your traps

 He’s so excited to continue using it because it’s only uphill from here. I know this is a drawn out review, but I absolutely recommend this to anyone with muscle pains. It will sincerely help.

 After 20 minutes of massaging the areas. He stood up and his muscle pains, while not fully gone, were knocked down TREMENDOUSLY! And this is just after the first use.
