At only $139 I really feel Topping's L30 lands it self as the true king of entry level solid state amplifiers. It's three optional gain stages and overall power output allowed it to handle a wide range of headphones well.

Schiit magni + schiit modi or the atom amp+ with the atom dac+. You could also mix it with the topping L30 and modi dac. Really any of these are great but the atom stack would probably be the best in terms of reliability.

Im literally messing with my sources and 6xx right now, they sound like 5% better from my topping l30 and sonata hd pro than directly from my crappy low end xiaomi phone, I’d recommend you to just get the sonata for $40 bucks and be done but for some reason I couldn’t make it work specifically on my desktop pc... but yeah there’s a difference but it’s tiiiiiny, ocd stuff tbh...

Sounds very good but has a large brick power adapter, where the E30 had a convenient usb power adapter, and gets very hot. I wish the knob was orange instead of red to go with the orange of the E30

Looking at a few other options, it also seems like the Topping L30 is a worthwhile consideration for a standalone amp, but I'm mostly lost otherwise. I have no idea where to go from here, given that I could either go separate DAC and amp or combination and there are hundreds of viable options for each. I suppose first I need to find out of there is any reason separate models is superior to a combination DAC/AMP, as I see no reason why you'd ever want to separate them currently (at least in my use-case).
