I've tried 5.11, coach, timbuk2, osprey, and mystery ranch which is hands down the highest quality bag I had experience with.

The bag is stylish,but its not water proof or resistant. The inside seems almost undone with the lining only on three panals. The plus it has many pockets for all my stuff and plenty space on the inside of the bag and it seem very rugged. My laptop would be fine inside but I think a true laptop back...

I would check out timbuk2. Lots of great bags that meet this requirement and lots on sale at the moment.
