 So this flap unrolls revealing a zipper and a large open area for storage, now got you know some things in it right now and you can see the depth of the storage compartment which comes down to right about here on the bag. However, this inner lining you can actually unzip and take out of the top of the bag and I'll get to this. In a moment, you can take out the lower storage compartment, allowing you to have full access to the entire volume of the backpack. If you want to use the backpack that way, however, I like to use the top compartment to store power, supplies, cables and other electronic gear accessories, as well as water bottles and protein bars, and basically anything that you can fit in the top

 So this is a great bag and I think you're going to get a lot of use out of it on your adventures.  I'Ve removed these dividers to allow me the widest possible access, so I can just chuck in my GoPro camera in its own carrying case now, as I mentioned a few minutes ago, you can actually remove this entire storage compartment. You can simply take this out. It'S got a built in handle in case you want a carrying case for your camera. Just remove this like a little satellite bag and then, if you take out the upper compartment, liner you'll have access to the entire volume of your backpack and here's another little convenient storage pocket

 You need it, and another thing I like about this is that all the straps have in case you want to clip on a buckle or something. There are convenient access points for buckle, attachments, carabiner attachments. This side of the backpack also has a a strap here at the top on the back there's a carrying tab here at the top of the bag, and these are your shoulder straps, which are actually very comfortable, and the shoulder straps also have loops here in the Material, so that you can attach buckles and hold additional items. It'S got a buckle here to help secure the straps across your chest case

 With a laptop in the main compartment and any any personal items in the top, it always feels top heavy.  And forget sailing through TSA with this bag; it's a pain and really time consuming if you need to take out your laptop quickly. The top pouch feels more just like a dump bag. I appreciate all of the small zippered pockets, but there's so many of them that it's easy to forget where you put something; many of the zippered pockets are very flat with no gusset, so you're limited in what you can put in them

 I also like to take my camera on hikes but sometimes the terrain is rough and I don't want to wear a sling in case I stumble and land on my camera and figured this would provide protection and allow my hands to be free.  Unfortunately, this bag does NOT suit my needs.  It's much too bulky and cumbersome without really giving you a lot of space in exchange. I'm a sturdy female used to carrying heavy packs and wearing this bag felt like I was wearing a giant billboard behind me from the top inflexible flap portion that sticks out

 So this is your top compartment, the roll top right yeah, so you can have access to it. This also comes away, so you can fit a bigger cube in here. If you want to or no cube no cube at all, so here's what i really love about this thing. So here you see the camera cube down here

 So, in addition to that, let me just zip this up and show you the strap for it straps at the top here like that and it straps on the bottom. Looking strap there too. Oh, you can do it either side jake, honest, so there we go. So i'm just swinging around and then i have my zipper on the top where the strap was

 Here you have also the waist straps hidden away there yeah. So that's not bad! You get some basic waist support for if you're carrying a heavy load or if you just carry a medium load for a very long time now, if we open up the bag here as to where the magic happens right, you get room for a 15 inch laptop. So macbook pro, or what have you? Yes, 15.6 or 16 up there depending on the thickness? Okay and you have some mesh pockets here, yeah and uh a spot for your tab

 Some of them are more kit than clothing, and some of them are more clothing than kit, and i think this one is definitely one you would want. If you're out hiking, you don't want to carry a lot of heavy cameras with you, you're not doing a multi-camera shoot so or if you don't want the dedicated bag just for cameras exactly yeah. So it can do multiple things exactly and it has a camera compartment that comes out too, so you can actually use it separately. Yes, let's keep going so all right

Thule Covert 32L Backpack!

 Bag was expensive, so I needed it to be perfect. But, there was a deal breaker for me that, I think, is so extreme that it will likely limit is use for many people. It is huge. It is so big that not only are you not getting this under most airline seats, I think you might have trouble putting it in dinner overhead bins, particularly if you are flying regional routes outside the US

Nice bag, but excessively large for most uses.

The buckles don't connect quickly or easily. The DSLR pocket is great for big cameras ...

Pro DSLR will not fit

Cons: wish it had a rainfly for the price, also a hip belt that would help a lot for how big the bag is. Along with that some molle style hoops would be nice in different locations to use molle attachments.
