Salicylic Acid is a beta hydroxy acid that exfoliates the skin. This 2% treatment solution helps exfoliate the inside walls of pores to fight the appearance of blemishes and for better visible skin clarity with continued use. 

Contraindications: This formula should not be used on sensitive, peeling or compromised skin. Please refer to additional sun protection note and other warnings in provided Directions. 

Note: While exfoliating acids can result in quick visible benefits, we generally suggest indirect forms of skin exfoliation in favour of direct forms such as this formula due to potential inflammation and sensitivity associated with acids. Directions

Use in the AM and PM. Apply a small dot directly on spots for visible improvement or apply a small amount over the face to maintain visible clarity with continued use. Avoid the eye contour and contact with eyes. Do not rinse off. Continue with additional skin treatments as needed. If persistent irritation occurs, discontinue use and consult a physician.  Products like these need to come with a warning. Hey loves, it's Avak on your screen, here's another one. Hope you're all well. It's been so long since I've done a skincare review for you, so today I got you

 I've been trying a lot of serums over the last two, three years, and nothing quite compares to how this feels on the face. Unfortunately, that's where my raving and glowing review ends because, figure one, you see the situation here. Anytime you click on a skincare review, you want to know, does it work? Well, that depends. For acne on combination dry skin, which is what I got, I'd say no

 This was what, $6.70 Canadian? So for under $10, you get this serum, which I've been using for eight weeks, and I haven't even used a quarter of it yet, so this can definitely last you a long time. A little bit goes a really long way. This serum is seruming, eh? Let's talk about this

 Other brands need to take note. This is perhaps the best consistency of a serum I've ever tried, and I've tried quite a bit. I even tried two other ones from The Ordinary that weren't even worth review, but this one, the texture alone takes the cake. Everything else is a no for me though

Will not work overnight...

 Another thing you need to know is when you rub it in, you might get this kind of like white soapy foam if you apply too much. So let me show you guys. Okay, it's quite runny, as you guys can see. So when I rub it in, it kind of has this like white soapy texture

 The downside though is it can be more sensitizing than AHAs and other exfoliating acids. This formula is obviously 2% salicylic acid. So what makes up the other 98%? Well, if you look at the ingredient list, you'll notice that there are two ingredients before salicylic acid that you might not recognize. Saccharide isomerate and Cocamidopropyldimethylamine

 As for other serums like the hyaluronic acid or the niacinamide serum, I'd recommend you use this as your exfoliator step before any of the hyaluronic acid or niacinamide serums. As for waiting before or after applying other products, this is not something the science is super established on. You can wait a minute for it to dry down or if you're worried you're not getting the most benefit from them, then don't layer too many at a time. Just alternate morning or night or every other day

Who is this best for? Well, this is great if BHA isn't gonna be the main active in your routine. So if you're looking for something to spot treat, it could work for all skin types, but especially if your skin is combo or oily

To me it does not feel like it actually has 2% salicylic acid and I read in other reviews how it foams up. I don't mind the foaming it absorbs into your skin so really there is no reason to overreact. But I don't feel that it is as strong as it seems. I do however, in the long run, feel that it is gentle enough to use daily under my moisturizer

I'm 39 and having hormonal acne. I tried this after doing some research hoping it would help with whiteheads. This product was a Nope for me. It made my skin so much worse

I think this works okay, but I actually discovered plain tea tree oil works better at making pimples disappear overnight. Not bad, but not great l don’t think I would repurchase.  PS- the box came kind of damaged and dirty. The product was fine but the outside packaging was pretty beat up
