A few years ago, the Zero G Tour Pro entered the fray from long-time backcountry ski boot manufacturer Tecnica. Their previous touring boots were basically alpine boots with tech fittings and a walk mode. This model &#40;and subsequent update in a new color scheme; no meaningful changes other than aesthetics&#41; is a full, ground-up touring boot and is remarkable in many ways. Essentially, it is a "normal" ski boot that tours. The overall configuration is familiar and durable. The execution is light and well balanced for all-around, high downhill energy backcountry skiing. The weight-to-downhill performance ratio is amazing. This Tecnica is lighter than many options and skis downhill better than most AT boots available at any weight. Further, the cuff range and low-friction enable near-effortless touring and walking. You immediately trust these boots for their familiarity, and the performance won't let you down.  
All backcountry boots present inherent trade-offs. Right off the bat, uphill and downhill performance are inherently conflicting. Boots get better and better at optimizing both, but you can't have it all. There are definitely other boots that tour better than the Tecnica, and a few ski downhill better. Further, to minimize weight and maximize performance &#40;uphill and down&#41;, insulation is sacrificed; the Tour Pro is noticeably less warm than average touring boots. However, when it comes to trying to balance these opposing performance metrics, this boot is the best of its class. For all this, but balanced even more to the lightweight, efficient end of the spectrum, check out the other highest award-winning Scarpa F1 LT.

 I go for the 130 flex. I like something a little stiffer uh that can handle any conditions out there, so i've chosen the zero g tour pro boost to ski in and those are the three levels in the zero g lineup. So the zero g tour pro boot is the stiffest and lightest touring boot in technicals line, there's no compromising on performance for weight. So this is a really lightweight boot, but it still performs really well

 The weight is 2720 grams or six pounds, and that again is for the size 26.5 that boot retails for 749.95, canadian or 799.95 us

 The alpine overlap, construction offers great support and performance and that double locking, cuff is really innovative. Nice to have that security, because you won't switch back and forth inadvertently when you're skiing, 55 degrees, cuff rotation. As mentioned, you don't need much more than that. It'S a really easy boot to walk in when you've got it in walk mode in the backcountry and then a nice spacious toe box on the front as well

 I probably won’t be passing rando racers on the skintrack with this boot, but I know it’ll drive my 108mm touring skis down big lines without worry. It won’t be replacing my alpine boot for inbounds days, but I’ve had a lot of fun skiing inbounds on them, and I’d feel good about travelling with just these boots if I was planning to split my ski trip between the resort and backcountry. In the end, the Tour Pro tours efficiently, skis very well for an AT boot, and appears to have the backbone to ski firm, challenging conditions with confidence. Basically, it does everything I demand from a pair of backcountry boots

Tecnica also added a tongue spoiler to help boost the stiffness and power of the boot
