Even Valve's other multiplayer FPS, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, has remained more relevant, given its recent visual overhaul, transition to a free-to-play structure, and battle royale game mode. Still, TF2's staying power can't be ignored; if you're looking for a laid-back, no-frills, team-based FPS, TF2 fits that definition possibly better than any other title. Team Fortress 2 is probably the most laidback fps I've played, and it's still fairly popular. I'll play for like an hour with maybe 2-3 5 minute breaks mixed in, and nobody cares. I'll sometimes shoot a guy only for him to challenge me to rock paper scissors. And I'm pretty sure I saw a guy just running around hitting people with a big lolipop.
