The Polytune feature allows the player to strum all the open strings on their electric guitar at once and quickly identify which strings are out of tune through an intuitive display. Then the display automatically switches to display whatever string you're trying to tune. This feature is incredibly useful for the working guitar player. With this tuner pedal, you can quickly cut the signal to your amp and make sure your guitar is perfectly in tune. As with most of the pedals in TC Electronic's line-up, the Polytune is awash in useful features. This pedal can be set to tune a guitar or bass, or just as a chromatic tuner. You can also change the display setting from simple arrow indicators to a dynamic strobe display. This pedal is durable enough for the rowdiest gigs, easy to read all the way down on the floor, and has true bypass, so it won't affect your signal when it's turned off. Alternatively, you can change it to a buffered setting that splits the signal from your guitar so you can reference the tuner while still hearing your guitar through the amplifier. For better or worse, the buffer will slightly change the signal from your guitar, and how it sounds with the buffer is completely subjective.

The purpose of the battery cover is to remove it, right?

 That's the basic functions of the Paul you tune tuner So, but you can actually essentially strum all the strings just you check to see whether the strings are at attune if they're all in the green range. That means you're in good condition. So so that's the basic functions of the Point C Now just for verification, just to show you guys that the poly tuned is actually very accurate. What I have here is a Sure A GL XD Wireless system which comes with an onboard tuner I'm gonna turn Tina on there

 [Music] There we go. This one's sharp so we're gonna bring it back flat and then we're gonna bring it back up. Beautiful. See you sharp

 So that way you don't have to fumble with the tuner pedal all the time, especially if you're using a looper such as an R JM Mastermind, Boss, Cs5, Boss CS 8 or even something like a Rocktron switcher. Then if you're using a tuner out, then it doesn't really make a lot of sense for you to be like turning on the tuner all the time. So yeah, so that way you can actually use this to keep it, keep the display on at all times. So yeah

 I wasn't expecting perfection, but I assumed it would be fairly decent, especially considering I'm talking about a small number of pedals, but the moment you plug in through the pedal chain, you immediately look at the tone knob on your guitar thinking it is rolled down, when it isn't. Connect straight to the amp, and suddenly half your guitar signal comes back. The buffer is either nonexistent, or so weak that it can't deal with pushing 5 pedals. That's really not a usable buffer in my opinion

  The tuner function turned out to be very inaccurate. I can turn one of my guitar's tuning heads probably an eighth of a turn in either direction - after it becomes audibly sharp or flat - before the tuner needle moves off the green indicator into red. That is with the basic needle tuner setting. I tried the strobe tuner setting, which is supposed to be more accurate, but it's almost totally unusable

 If the string is extremely sharp or flat, it works, but once it gets close, the light strobe stops moving in a readable direction and just blinks an unreadable mess of lights on both sides of the needle that you can't identify directionally. It's bad enough that I actually question whether there is something wrong with the pedal, but I've checked the results against a tuner app on my phone, and the tuning is correct, so it just seems like the tuner in this thing is just not very good at close accuracy. If you just need a quick and dirty tuner for the stage to get you "close enough", this pedal will do that, but there are plenty of $20-30 Chinese tuners on Amazon that will do that, so I'm not sure why you'd pay the extra for this unit. Considering the reviews, and the specs, I expected much better accuracy than "close enough"

I picked this pedal up after the universally great reviews because I needed both an accurate tuner and a buffer pedal for my pedal rig, and I have to say, I'm disappointed with both features. The pedal I received was factory sealed and came in a nice looking box, and apart from its massive size, at first glance appeared to be a nice pedal.  The tuner function turned out to be very inaccurate.  super super clean looking finish. There have a quick start guide and a sticker and that's all that comes in the actual box. So Usb. Oh wow, that's cool

 So when you need it to, you know when you want to tune your guitar, you go to click in tune, click out, and that's it. There you go. True Buffer: Very nice. All right

 Whatever, this is gonna just fly around. Uh, as you're playing a guitar, but you never would have to click on if you wanted to tune so you'd never have to walk over the board and click it. Um, so you can see that no matter what I do, this thing stays on. This is the Tc Electronic Polytune Three

 Okay, pretty nice. Um, yeah. super super clean looking finish. There have a quick start guide and a sticker and that's all that comes in the actual box

Okay, But I've Had Better

 So right now I'm playing a Telecaster and it's probably out of tune, so let's check that out. I'm gonna just turn on the volume on the guitar and I'm gonna just strum an individual note as you can see the E string now is very much off and I'm gonna tune that up to pitch. As you can see, it reacts very quickly and it indicates that I'm in tune by indicating that you see the needle in the middle position doesn't flicker, and you have the lights on either side lit up. Now it's pretty accurate in the sense that if you're slightly off, it will not be 100% on

 If I click it once again, you're in based winning mode and I call that needle mode and then if I click it again, you're in bass tuning mode Chromatic So you want to make sure you're in the Raw the right mode for what you're trying to tune. So let's go back to needle Mode Guitar and I'll show you how that works. So right now I'm playing a Telecaster and it's probably out of tune, so let's check that out.  The quality is good, the price is right. TC Electronic Have been coming out with some very good products over the years and I really do enjoy their pedals immensely. I Think that they're putting in a lot of technology in their pedals and they're They're giving you a lot of value for your money and I haven't had issues with any of them so far, so you know they have me as a fan. and I encourage you to check it out as well

 It'll switch from I Call this needle tuning mode and it shows a G4 guitar. So you're in guitar tuning mode if I click it again, you're in chromatic tuning mode for guitar. If I click it once again, you're in based winning mode and I call that needle mode and then if I click it again, you're in bass tuning mode Chromatic So you want to make sure you're in the Raw the right mode for what you're trying to tune. So let's go back to needle Mode Guitar and I'll show you how that works
