Just picked up this Swiss K31 yesterday. I've been waiting for it to arrive for a few weeks but the proof house was running behind. Here in the UK all firearms must be proof tested before they can be sold. The rifle is a 1948 example and in great condition, even the stock isn't chewed up as is often seen in these rifles.

Help me choose a good milsurp rifle.

Do not buy milsurp for hunting. They are all shit compared to cheap modern bolt actions. For instance, a 700 USD K31 was only garaunteed to 2.5 effective moa (effective because they measured accuracy different back then). A lot will be better but that minimum + wear over time you aren't getting a highly accurate rifle by today's comparison.

This guy likes the wood. Mad respect for classics. I’m torn between a .303 Enfield (Kuz Leonard Cohen) or a 7.5mm Swiss K31 (kuz like Switzerland, I myself am a passive neutral personality).

Get you one military surplus. And Lee Enfield, mosin nagant, Mauser, k31 etc... Those are fun as hell and have a lot of character too! My first like 4 rifles were milsurps!

Dude, you more or less have my dream collection. Especially loving the flintlock, the martini and the K31. If I may say, a Marlin Model 36 (I have one, they were made between 1937 and 1946) would round out your collection nicely.
