I have a cheapo one that like much better. Works great in landscape view not in portrait. Heavy and sticks well but the slot is not deep enough to hold well in portrait. If you knock your iPad a tiny bit, it will fall out and smash to the floor. Hopefully not into a million pieces but...

This has a small footprint and holds onto tablets well. It cannot be used for cookbooks. Once it gets dirty, the tablet will slide down if it is not placed within the slots, but it is easily cleaned. I like that the slots provide two different viewing angle.

Low tech, solid, and stable. Does exactly what it advertised. I love it and use it in the kitchen when cooking. Holds your devices (phone, tablet, etc.) without falling over or marking/scratching the surface below it.

These stands are great for all of my devices, except the iPad Air 2, which is too thin to be held securely. It is too thin in general, so I'm not surprised. Everything else fits great; I have 3 now.
