Even if your favourite player plays a really expensive guitar, there's usually a cheaper alternative available. A guitar I would recommend to a beginner is probably the Squier Bullet Mustang. They're very cheap, very basic, have a shorter scale neck which could be very helpful while you're just starting out, they often come in bundles that will include a small amp and other accessories (like a tuner and a strap), and they're highly moddable.

I would recommend a Squier Bullet Stratocaster ssh. Maybe, but only maybe, if you could find a Squier Affinity Stratocaster ssh on sale go for that one.

The Squier Bullet is known to be a rather good instrument in this price range. The Mustang HH comes with two humbucker pickups (hence the HH), that’ll give you a punchier, fatter tone for hard rock and metal. Quite honestly, if the feel of the guitar is good, and you have a good vibe with the instrument, that’s the most important part.

If you have the desire and know-how to tinker with guitars, I would recommend this guitar. This is where I throw out what a good deal this is for the price. That's true.
