I’ve used the Spigen Liquid Air series for my last 3 phones now. Not too bulky but adds decent protection. Looks minimalistic as well.

<div class="md"><p>I have used Apple cases, InCase, Belkin, Tech21, Otterbox, Native Union, and Logitech (for various devices) and I have found that the Apple cases are good, but not the best in terms of durability. I. think the most durable cases tend to be the Otterbox cases, but they are expensive. </p>

<p>In terms of value, I think the best cases are &quot;generic&quot; third party cases. This is just for iPhones and Airpods, though, as the laptop generic cases I have had experiences with tend to be cheap and do not fit well. </p>

<p>I don&#39;t have much experience with laptop cases (not protective bags, but actual shells), so I can&#39;t comment a whole lot in that area.</p>

 It seems my issues with it are in the choice of materials, not the quality of manufacture. My last phone used the Spigen Liquid Air Armor, and I might go back to that.

Slippery grip, so good thing my phone has a case?

I highly recommend the Spigen liquid crystal case, it’s only $12 and solves all of those problems, it has great grip, buttons click easily, and amazingly it doesn’t show many fingerprints even on my black 12.

The plastic one is so annoying to press the buttons, the first thing I noticed. It also creates a clicking noise before pressing the actual buttons. It’s bad. 

Silicone case however? So soft. It’s a dream to hold. I even dropped my 12 Pro off the table today when carving pumpkins and the case did break slightly, but saved my phone completely.

I have the Spigen Neo Hybrid and the Spigen Glas.tr screen protector on my iPhone 12. All together it was $30 on Amazon, worth it so far if you’re looking for other case recommendations.

PSA: I don’t know if this is just me, but the ringer toggle on my gold 12 pro snags on the case when I take it off and it is all scratched up now. I spoke with an Apple rep and they said the cases tend to snag on the buttons on the flat sides making it hard to get on and off. They’re reimbursing me tomorrow

I just exchanged mine for the dark blue silicone case as well. Just like you said, it’s WAY too slippery. It would constantly slide down my hand while using it. I saw your post a few hours ago and thought you were overreacting. A few minutes ago my 12 Pro in the clear case slipped out of my hand and fell on the hard tile floor at work. Luckily not even a scratch or ding on the phone, but this case is getting exchanged for a silicone one this afternoon.

Have you used the prior years clear case? Reviews noted it’s easier to use and hold compared to last years. I have no problem with my 11 Pro Max.

Yep, I made the clear case mistake for the 11 pro.  It really is a terrible case, and even worse, after removing a few times, it started to crack.

Yeah, screw their overpriced cases and Magsafe. ESR, Spigen, Moko and the like have excellent cases for a fraction of the price - if ignoring the magnets, they all do the same thing and look similar. Magsafe is just yet another money-making ecosystem we don't really need. All I'm getting for my 12 Mini is a clear matte skin/protector for the back and a screen protector for the front - first time going caseless. Can't wait to return to the iPhone 5 size!

This is the very opposite of my experience with my clear apple case for my 11 Pro. It was extremely slippy and I couldn’t tell if I was pressing the volume or power button. I replaced it with a leather case within a few days (which negated my excitement over getting the green last year). I think I still have the case somewhere so am going tinpot it on my 11 Pro before I send it for trade in to compare again.

So it’s definitely subjective, but interesting I had the same experience you’re having now with the comparable case a year ago.

I have their 11 Pro clear case and it’s been great. It hasn’t gotten the yellow tint like most clear cases do. But I was disappointed how the leather case for my 5S “peeled” off after 5+ years of use.

I'm using ESR Air Armor and I'm really liking it so far.  Got it for about $6.  It adds very little balk to the phone and it's crystal clear.  The corners are reinforced and the overall construction of the case is solid.  One thing I didn't like at first is that it barely has any lip but after seeing drop test with the new screen, I don't even think I'm going to need to add a protective screen.

I’m so glad you wrote this out. I’ve been seeing the same issues, thinking it was just me. 

Additionally, my clear case doesn’t have an on-screen animation when it connects. Not that it’s a deal breaker for me, but I am taking that as a sign that the case may be defective. I think I’ll return it today. 

I bought the first clear case for the XR 2 years ago and I’ve rocked it since. One of the best cases I’ve ever bought, so naturally I expected the same deal with this one.

The case is bulky but it has withstood many drops and has not yellowed in a year. 

The side buttons were hard to press for about a month but really softened up. Now it’s no issue pressing them with a thumb even through a pant pocket.

OP, not suggestive at all... I too have issues with the case, and to me the worst one is how hard it is to press the side button. Another issue that I noticed is that the flash, or flashlight bleeds out to the front when on... I bought my kids two cases off Amazon, and theirs is much better than the Apple one, albeit not having the stupid white circle...

Received my iPhone 12 pro max today with the case 2 days ago . 
It does protect the phone but it is very very slippery, I didn’t imagine that could be that possible.

Can i return it ?

Agreed returned it immediately and got the Apple leather California poppy color case for my iPhone 12 pro max. The leather case gives you a good grip and feels good in your hand compared to the clear case which was slippery.

<div class="md"><p>I understand these kinds of things are entirely subjective, but I wanted to offer my experience with the clear case. 
I was excited to get a clear case for my Pacific Blue 12 Pro so I could show off the new color, and figured that Apple&#39;s case would be good quality because of my experience with their other cases in the past. Nope.
- It&#39;s ridiculously slippery. Like, I&#39;ve been afraid to use my phone with it in the case because it keeps slipping out of my hands. 
- It’s more rigid and thicker than I was expecting, so it added more bulk than I was hoping to. 
- Probably the biggest sin of this case is how ridiculously hard it is to press the buttons. In the 24 hours I had it, I took so many screenshots because I had to grip the left side while pressing the power button. In contrast, the silicone cases have wonderful, easy to press buttons. It’s crazy. </p>

<p>I’m sure some people will like the clear case, but I just wanted to provide my opinion to anybody that was considering it. I for one just traded it for a navy silicone one at the Apple store and am much happier now.</p>

<p>EDIT: I forgot to mention originally that another problem I have with it is that there is a lip around the camera cut out. So even with the case, it doesn’t sit flat on a table. Why, Apple?</p>
