I don't know if I would buy it at the full price which is like 310 dollars now, but you do get a lot of different color options which I'll show here.

It's just a safe helmet, I feel protected, but it's still lightweight.

Under 25mph you should be fine with a downhill rated MTB helmet such as the Smith Mainline; for anything faster I would invest in a full motorcycle helmet and other protection. If you don't plan on going over 15mph you can get away with a simple bicycle helmet, but there is still a bit of a risk you will fall on your face. Ultimately its a personal choice how much protection vs risk you are willing to take when you ride, and its always a balance between comfort and safety.

I use the Smith Mainline on my VDM-10, great helmet. I also have a more basic Bell bicycle helmet that I use when I go around the city on bike paths on the G30.

I crashed in a bike park with it and end up having a huge blood knot on my right tempo, surprisingly there's only a small dent on the helmet.

I understand that helmet cannot protect you from everything but all my friends and I just don't understand how that came from.

The D ring make it hard to wear...

I use the Smith Mainline helmet with my VDM-10. I use it with the Smith Optics Elite Aegis Arc Compact glasses instead of goggles.

However, it has some difficult issues to contend with. 1) the motorcycle style D ring closure makes it hard to take on and off quickly--especially with gloves.
