 Hey what's up guys, TJ here. Today I'm out at Sagaike Resort here in Hakuba, Japan and we're going to be checking out the Salomon Sixstick. The Sixstick is going to be a tapered twin style snowboard so the stance is centered within the side cut. It's going to ride pretty much the same in either direction on hard pack but it does have a bit of a taper so the contact points in the tail are a little bit skinnier than the nose so in powder that's going to help to drop that tail and in my opinion it also helps to set a stronger edge for carving

 Hey what's up guys, TJ here. Today I'm out at Sagaike Resort here in Hakuba, Japan and

 going to help to drop that tail and in my opinion it also helps to set a stronger edge

 for carving. It's going to be a positive camber snowboard, pretty much positive camber for

 the entire length of the snowboard with just a little bit of rocker in the nose and tail

 and it does have a directional shape outside the contact points so that nose is actually

 a little bit longer than the tail also helping to pop that nose up out in the powder and

 help to give it a little bit more flow. It's been really fast out here it's got a nice

 centered base it also has some cork in the sidewall so that's going to help to make it

 a little bit more damp and help absorb some shocks as you're cruising and carving along

 This guy's not too stiff either I'm actually on the 151 which is a little bit shorter than

 I normally ride just helping to make it a little bit more maneuverable but it's actually

 very pressable fun for doing butters hitting rails and all that type of stuff as well.

 The biggest highlights for me on the six stick are how much pop it has it's a nice poppy

 snowboard whether you're in the park or just ollieing off some natural features it's going

 to be a lot of fun for you. It's really fast super stoked on that centered base and it's

 really maneuverable as well I think that was definitely a big standout for me whether I

 was in the powder the heavier slushy snow or just on a groomer it was real quick to

 just whip around and turn very very quickly. I've had a lot of fun out here on it got to

 test it in a wide variety of conditions I'd highly recommend it if you're looking for

 something that's kind of freeride oriented going to do well in powder but still going

I’m a longtime rider who’s never really progressed passed intermediate riding (comfortable on most single black runs, but no park riding or big jumps), and I’m looking for my first new board in over a decade. 

I’m going to be riding mostly groomed runs, but would like to progress into some park and back country riding. 

I thought it was set on a Burton Process Camber, but now I’m not so sure — are there any other boards I should be looking at?

Now the cross profile from Salomon means that underneath and in between the feet the board is camber and then outside the insert packs to the contact points the board actually rocks up

 Hello, I'm Matt Gough from TheHouse.com and this is a 2017 Salomon 6-Stick Snowboard.

 It's a power board designed for pretty much anyone who wants to ride deep snow.

 This is a funnel shaped board, I was able to ride this one quite a bit but not as much

 So Greg and Wick Dog out there from Salomon, you know where I'm at, holla atcha boy.

 The 6-Stick does have a slight taper to the tail.

 They say that Salomon calls it a tapered twin, I don't know if you can use that term because

 twin means that the nose and tail are the same.

 I say that because the nose is wider than the tail, the tail is tapered but it does

 You'll notice that outside those insert packs or outside the contact points the nose is

 friendly properties to it that actually make it really light weight.
