 As I've mentioned, there's a lot of things that I felt they kind of went the poor route on. So like for example, this actual base and the loading pin are just metal texture coated, which is already getting marked up after just even one day of use. But my big issue here is you're going to have metal on metal contact a lot when you're using this system. I would think that they'd put some UHMW between them either on the bottom of the actual loading pin on the base or maybe on the arm sticking out for the other base that attaches to your rack

Rogue Monster Plate Loaded Slinger Attachment - Strike Two?

 Hey, what's up, everybody? Welcome back. Brandon again. Wanted to do a quick video update to

 the Rogue Monster slinger video that I did a couple of months ago, I believe. I'll link

 that in the description box below. If you haven't seen that, please watch it because

 it's going to give you a lot of context for this particular video, which is going to focus

 on a new release, which is the plate loaded slinger. Now, this is the monster version

 as I have the monster rack. And to be honest, I was really looking forward to this because

 again, some clips from my last video is that the band tension from the normal slinger,

 what was first released, I found was really uneven and was really difficult to use. Well,

 some of the problems that again I detail in that video. So really looking forward to this.

 They released it last week. So at the time of filming, this is Saturday, they released

 it the previous Monday. I got this in yesterday, Friday and flat out, let me tell you, first

 of all, if you're going to get a slinger, this is the way to go. The tension on this

 is much more even. It feels a lot better. And there's a lot of good things about this

 particular version, which I wish they had released initially because I would have gotten

 this version instead of the band one that I did. But that being said, there is still

 a lot of things that I think were rushed. And this is still a little bit of a disappointment

 in terms of it could have been so much better. And that's what I want to focus on in this

 particular video. So first things first, it's interesting because this particular one, which

 is the monster version, the plate loaded version actually released after the monster light

 version, which is usually never the case for rogue. For the most part, they always release

 the monster version first and then the monster light will eventually get one if at all. So

 they released the monster light version first, which was interesting because the monster

 slinger was out for a long time before the monster light slinger was. And it was just

 interesting that they chose to go this route. So it took me a couple more weeks for this

 to release. And the first day that it was available, I ordered it. I got it in. I've

 used it. Like I said, it works fantastically, but there are some design flaws that I still

 think are an inherent issue to it. So let's kind of just break things down and talk about

 it in basics. All it is is a beam post that attaches to your rack. And what this beam

 post does, it allows for a plate loaded pin to rest easily on it. Now this is nice because

 number one, it rests easily so you can easily put on weights on and off. So it's very nice

 because again, you're loading plates on and you don't want to actually have it on the

 floor because in this case there is a cross beam right beneath me and it would bang up

 your cross beam. So this piece mounts on very easily. It just uses a pin that they use in

 a lot of their other pieces of equipment to secure it. And that way you can easily remove

 it and adjust it as necessary. And the pin sits right on top of it and it catches it.

 So again, it's not going to hit the bottom of your rack. Now also included is a shackle

 which amounts to the bottom post and a small bungee cord. And that bungee cord then mounts

 to the loading pin. And that way when you're pulling up on the slinger, there's some tension

 on the bottom so that you don't have the weight swinging back and forth, which was a big issue

 that I had in my former system, which was a spud ink pulley on my monster light. So

 this way you're not banging the uprights because as you can see here, the weights when you

 use 45 pound plates get very close to the actual rack and no one wants to bang up a

 nice rack. So this really keeps it from getting close. But I will say it's still a little

 bit worrisome because when you take a look at the bungee cord and how it attaches, there's

 a lot of slack. Now I'm assuming as I mentioned in my other video that when you get a hundred

 or a hundred and eight version rack, this thing is going to work better based off of

 leverages for a 90 inch rack. There's a lot of extra slack, which means you still do get

 some swing on these. So depending on how crazy and how forceful you put behind some of your

 movements you're doing, I still worry that this could potentially still end up banging

 the rack. And again, the bungee cord is a little bit loose and I would prefer a little

 bit more tension because that would make this thing even much more smoother than it already

 is. So this is smooth. Like I said, it works fantastically. If you're going to get the

 slinger, this is the way to go. But again, there are some issues. So number one, I mentioned

 the bungee cord. Let's talk about the shackle itself. So this version ships with a shackle

 that forever mounts on the bottom of your actual cross beam. That means you have to

 get wrenches to tighten it. And if you ever wanted to remove it, you have to break off

 the wrenches again. Now this is an interesting route they went because when I take a look

 at my band loaded version, they sent me one of the nice new monster attachments, which

 uses a hand screw. So that way you can basically move it whenever you want without the use
